The Gospel According to Oprah is more than just a book title; it's a mindset that has created quite a following for the billionaire talk-show host. And her promotion of a philosophy extolling the "Law of Attraction" has added to millions who are being led away from the teachings of Christ.

According to a May 2006 article titled "The Divine Miss Winfrey" in USA Today, "Over the past year, Winfrey ... has emerged as a spiritual leader for the new millennium, a moral voice of authority for the nation."

There's no doubt that Oprah is spiritual, but the philosophy she pushed on the February 8, 2006, broadcast of The Oprah Winfrey Show couldn't place her farther from the truth. During the show, Oprah interviewed a panel of teachers who appear in a 93-minute film called The Secret.

The Secret, also a book which has sold two million copies, is promoted as "a feature length, historic and factually based account of an age old secret, said to be 4,000 years in the making, and known only to a fortunate few. The Secret reveals this great knowledge to the world -- The Secret to wealth, The Secret to health, The Secret to love, relationships, happiness, eternal youth ... The Secret to life itself."

While its appeal is wide and its lure powerful, the philosophy of The Secret is a narrow road that leads to death and destruction.

The sad thing is, I believe she was saved, she is a child of God, but has allowed herself to be led far, far away. She has ignored the Holy Spirit, and succumbed to filthy lucre. That's how I see it.

What do you base her being a child of God on? This is the first time I have heard someone say that...

I lived in Chicago during her early years, and I have heard her claim to be a Christian. I am not saying I couldn't be wrong. It's what i believe, but I'm not going to pronounce her saved. I'm sharing an opinion.

A lot of people claim to be a christian. But their lives tell the truth about what they really believe.

Someone gave me the book and I actually read it, and it is nothing more than the power of the mind, the same way a placebo works for a patient, there is some merit to that. However, as with rat poison where 98% of the ingredients are good stuff for the rat, it is the 2% that is the bad killing ingredient. There is a very bad and dangerous underlying theme. What is very scary is how they make this out to be spiritual and at one point even telling the reader that we basically are gods and we make our own destiny, and that we are energy and can never be destroyed, only change form.

The most hilarious part of the book though is how they expound on this "Law of Attraction" as if it is an absolute scientific fact, as if it can be quantified and measured. I thought of writing a diatribe to the authors, but then they would just think away my negative letter and never get it...lol

Sorry, but you could not be more wrong. The power behind 'The Secret' is a demonic force that could not be more real. The power of a human mind cannot begin to compare to the superhuman intelligence and power of these supernatural beings.

    Beware.

Oprah Winfrey is an enemy of our Lord Jesus Christ and an enemy of His people.

The Lord Himself warned us about people like Oprah Winfrey and told us what to look for. These people are everywhere and visible today just as we were told they would be in these days. That Christians watch Oprah and even love and admire her is both a testament to the seductive power of the demonic forces behind her and another sad example of the widespread lack of discernment among the Lord's people today.
