    Haruo,

    Thanks for the info.

    I'm guessing you had your speakers turned off when you visted the Anglican Hymn site. ;)

    When I clicked your link I could hear the tune before the words even came up. [IMG]

    Turn up your speakers and try again.

    The music was also written by Stuart Townsend.

    God Bless

    Enda

    Actually, I was posting from church, and the church computer has the bizarre disability of having two hard drives (C and D), and only having sound on D but only having Internet Access on C!! Which makes it time-consuming to hear anything even if the MIDI link is visible. In this case, the link was hidden, and I had to look at the page source to even know there was one. But now (posting from work, where there is no sound on the computers) I have copied the MIDI to a floppy, thanks, and will take it home where I don't have internet access but will be able to hear it. (The church's computer's sound system is become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal, quality-wise, so I avoid listening to stuff on its D drive unless I desperately need to.) More than you cared to know, I guess, but I needed to vent [IMG] .

    Amazing grace, How sweet the sound,
    That saved a wretch like me!
    I once was lost, but now am found,
    Was blind, but now I see.

    'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
    And grace my fears relieved:
    How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed!

    Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
    I have already come;
    'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
    And grace will lead me home.

    The Lord has promised good to me,
    His word my hope secures;
    He will my shield and portion be
    As long as life endures.

    And when this flesh and heart shall fail,
    And mortal life shall cease;
    I shall possess within the veil
    A life of joy and peace.

    When we've been there ten thousand years,
    Bright shining as the sun,
    We've no less days to sing God's praise
    Than when we first begun.

    one of the favourites at church (the third verse is especially dear to me):

    Come, Thou Fount

    Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
    Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
    Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
    Call for songs of loudest praise.
    Teach me some melodious sonnet,
    Sung by flaming tongues above.
    Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
    Mount of Thy redeeming love.

    Here I raise my Ebenezer;
    Here by Thy great help I’ve come;
    And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
    Safely to arrive at home.
    Jesus sought me when a stranger,
    Wandering from the fold of God;
    He, to rescue me from danger,
    Interposed His precious blood.

    O to grace how great a debtor
    Daily I’m constrained to be!
    Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
    Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
    Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
    Prone to leave the God I love;
    Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
    Seal it for Thy courts above.

    O that day when freed from sinning,
    I shall see Thy lovely face;
    Clothed then in blood washed linen
    How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace;
    Come, my Lord, no longer tarry,
    Take my ransomed soul away;
    Send thine angels now to carry
    Me to realms of endless day.

    " Room At The Cross For You "

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The cross upon which Jesus died is a shelter in which we can hide;
    And its grace so free is sufficient for me,
    And deep is its fountain - as wide as the sea.
    Tho millions have found Him a friend and have turned from the sins they have sinned,
    The Savior still waits to open the gates
    And welcome a sinner before it's too late.
    The hand of my Savior is strong, and the love of my Savior is long; Through sunshine or rain, through loss or in gain, The blood flows from Calv'ry to cleanse every stain.
    chorus:
    There's room at the cross for you;
    There's room at the cross for you.
    Tho millions have come,
    There's still room for one-
    Yes, there's room at the cross for you.
    For whatever reason, most hymnals omit the third verse of this five-stanza hymn:
    Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
    Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
    Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
    Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.
    One I like that you rarely see in hymnals is Montgomery's "Forever With the Lord":
    It can be sung to Terra Beata ("This is my Father's world") but I prefer the tune Nearer Home, which you can get from the MIDI link here {click}.
    I’m not ashamed to own my Lord,
    Or to defend His cause;
    Maintain the honor of His Word,
    The glory of His cross.
    Jesus, my God! I know His Name,
    His Name is all my trust;
    Nor will He put my soul to shame,
    Nor let my hope be lost.
    Firm as His throne His promise stands,
    And He can well secure
    What I’ve committed to His hands
    Till the decisive hour.
    Then will He own my worthless name
    Before His Father’s face,
    And in the new Jerusalem
    Appoint my soul a place.
    (Isaac Watts)
    CYBER HYMNAL
    Sang as I went through the waters of Baptism on Sunday night.
    Abby, my favorite version of that is Willie Nelson's on his Gospel album, "The Troublemaker". I think Merle Haggard does it on "Land of Many Churches", too.
    I'll add Praise to the Lord, the Almighty:
    Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
    O my soul, praise him, for He is they health and salvation!
    All ye who hear, Now to His temple draw near;
    Praise Him in glad adoration.
    Praise to the Lord, who o'er all things so wondrously reigneth,
    Shelters thee under His wings, yea so gently sustaineth!
    Hast thou not seen how thy desires e'er have been
    Granted in what He ordaineth?
    Praise to the Lord, O let all that is in me adore Him!
    All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him.
    Let the Amen sound from His people again,
    Gladly for aye we adore Him.
    I also like Worthy of Worship:
    Worth of worship, worthy of priase, worthy of honor and glory; Worthy of all the glad songs we can sing, worthy of all of the offerings we bring,
    Refrain:
    You are worthy, Father, Creator. You are worthy, Savior, Sustainer. You are worthy, worthy and wonderful; Worthy of worship and praise.
    Worthy of revernce, worthy of fear, worthy of love and devotion; Worthy of bowing and bending of knees, worthy of all this and added to these...
    (Refrain)
    Almighty Father, Master and Lord, King of all kings and Redeemer, Wonderful Counselor, Comforter, Friend, Savior and Source of our life without end.
    (Refrain)
