These are your ideas, not mine. I never suggested any of these.

    Regards anyway,

Women are NAGS?? NAGS? Let me tell you something. I can come up with several acronyms for men that wouldn't be very flattering. But I shall refrain.

Mothers who need an extended paid leave (for a host of circumstances that nobody here seems to be able to address) are just a bunch of unbiblical people????

Here's what I think of this thread.

I'd put a whole bunch more of those little faces rolling their eyes, but unfortunately, I am restricted to only four.

    1. Do you know what the definition of NAG is?
    2. Why do you limit assistance to only mothers:
Are you discriminating against single women and (all) men

Answer those, then we will get to the meat of the subject

Yes, I read your acronym. Something about National Association of Gals or some such. It wouldn't matter if it stood for Nicest All-round Girls or Neat Amiable Girlfriends...

....the acronym spells NAG. To call a woman a "nag" is offensive.

    What?!?

I'm not. There are TONS of mothers who are single. Maybe the dads refused to marry them or maybe they had a great husband who is passed away or maybe their husbands left them and their children.

And their are TONS dads who need help. What about dads like FilmProducer's husband who could have used this help greatly.

Her post explaining how her husband could have benefited from this went absolutely ignored by the men on this thread who were berating women for working in the first place!

Salty, don't take my griping over this thread too personally. :saint:

What do you expect from someone with as little character and morals as a guy like Rush Limbaugh?

    Regards,

Sure it is, unless somethign changed and I didn't get the memo about being forced to work a particular job and live in a particular house.

A generalization yes, but not a broad one in the least.

On this one, not at all. It is about priorities. We all have them and we all set them.

Case in point: Several years ago my wife had the opportunity to get a part time job that would have helped us out tremendously. It would have had great benefits, since she would have been working for an airline and we would have received travel benefits as well. She was ready to be hired, but they would not guarantee her that she could have Wednesdays and Sundays off. We made a decision that she would not take the job because of our priorities. Our standard of living is lower. We don't have some things we would like to have and could use. But it is possible to live differently.

Again, is this not America? Is someone forcing a family to live a particular lifestyle? Don't tell me someone doesn't have a choice. Let's face it: People all over the country live on single incomes. Their standard of living is lower. But they do it.

Very very few people have "no choice." Again, it's about priorities.

I just can't let people lie & get away with it.

Rush doesn't refer to all women as NAGS. He refers to the "National Organization of Women" as the "National Association of Girls".

I await your tomatoes for daring to set the record straight, but you should listen to him before you slam him. And it is OBVIOUS that folks here don't listen.
