Sounds like she just may be what the republican party needs. I'd be nervous too, if I was an inside-the-beltway politician of any party.....

So... what's the difference between a "rogue" and a "maverick" anyway?

    Rogue
    Maverick:
The two definitions are from www.Dictonary.com

A presidential candidate never wants his/her VP running mate to be either a rogue or a maverick when it comes to following the campaign strategy they want followed.

In my opinion, she is playing polictics and setting herself up for a run in 2012 for something... It's what most people would do in her position.

The way I see politicians are always looking for the next gig.... nothing new here...

I agree... She has the far right in her corner that want to see her show leadership. I also don't blame her for not wanting to be sequestered. She is running for VP of the US and they have her in a glass bubble. She wants to let America see her folksy answers which frankly do have drawing power to her supporters.

McCain wants to separate himself from Bush then he shouldn't have Bush folks as her handlers.

The difference is a rogue isn't playing for their own team. She's playing for herself only. She must actually believe these people who are saying she will run for President in 2012. That would be a Democrat victory unlike it's seen since JBJ blew away Barry "Nuclear Holocaust" Goldwater.

Here's the link to the full CNN story:

In my view she has a few hurdles to overcome before 2012. She knows she is only a drag on the ticket because of how the campaign was run. You can see her dodging her handlers which means she might be picking up the attitude of being bigger than the whole. This will work against her if she does. She still need the parties leadership no matter how popular she is. You can't walk on people no matter how poor a job they did getting you where you are. That is a closed community and reputation amongst the "little people" means everything.

She also has trooper gate and now the two new allegations to overcome. The side against her was greatly benefited by the "liberal media" and she didn't make any friends by continually thumbing her nose at them.

She has to return to Alaska and be a good Governor or she will be voted out in two years. The seclusion and solitary life they knew has been disturbed and some want their privacy back. If that means getting rid of their new superstar then so be it. They are isolationist for the most part.

Most of all, she has to make sure this fame doesn't cause her to self-destruct. She went from Mayor of 9K to Gov or 600K to rallies all across the country of people wearing Sarah teeshirts which could get to the average persons head. Not saying it will happen to her but she can't forget what goes up must come down.

She is going to get book deals, movie deals and offered many jobs and perks for endorsements. Her stamp is gold. Some people handle this better than others.

Why would anyone believe anything the Clinton News Network said about a Republican. Also an unnamed source is always suspect.

This would of course be the same Goldwater, would it not, of which it was said, "They told me that if I voted for Goldwater we would go to war in Vietnam. Sure enough, I voted for Goldwater and we went to war in Vietnam."

I think they have, McCain also lashed out Bush and his own party:

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/oct/23/mccain-lambastes-bush-years/

    To the point where his own party lashed back at him;

I don't think anyone wants to go down claiming ownership of the ship...
