Crabby, don' be too upset by the questioning of your motive for posting this one.

I have wondered the same thing, but never really given it much thought except for the ethical aspect and even then, not a whole lot.

Surely you realize that so many of your past posts have been extremely critical of virtually any person, idea, action etc., that could be remotely considered "conservative", that one can understand a reluctance to NOT see the same motive in focus here.

 

The reality is however that it is SOP for you to simply start threads that bash or are critical of Republicans or conservatives and then don't bother to participate other than to say that it is "interesting".

You have a well earned reputation in that regard.

 

The whole last post is baloney. You disparaged Ron Paul, saying he was a "world renowned medical expert", in a sarcastic way, and disappeared when his medical credentials were shown to you. You call people "bigots" and refuse to explain why. To hear you exalt yourself as a model poster here is laughable.

 

But you have no problem posting them yourself.

 

The difference being that others that start threads participate in them and defend and argue their position.

You simply smugly pontificate and hold then yourself to be some sort of moral superior.

 

Here is a possibility: By implication/innuendo, she is dishonest because it isn't really her book.

Hmm. I just thought it was a "given" that people knew about ghostwriters. Even well known evangelical Christians use ghostwriters. I once met the writer (well-paid, by the way) who ghostwrote a book for a prominant preacher. The preacher got all the credit; the ghostwriter got lots of money. It's perfectly legal.

As to the question of being unethical, I don't think it is. I would liken ghostwriting to my hiring a maid to clean for me. If she did her job and people just assumed I was a good housekeeper, I wouldn't be sinning.

 

Almost all celebrities that put out a book, use a ghost writer.. They haven't the time needed to do it themselves... Just time to spend a few days during their scheduled duties discussing history, and principles... There are sometimes boxes of info provided..

Although no one mentioned it, these "ghost writers" are well compensated.. A friend makes a great living as one. He and his wife are spending the winter in New Zealand and Australia this year, writing and sailing..

I read lots of biographies, and I think I'm able to get a better feel for the celeb, when a ghostie, who knows how to do it, goes to work..

 

What is important is the content of the book, not who actually penned the words.

Let me repeat an earlier posting. If reading a book written by a ghost writer is a concern, don't buy the book.
