    2 Peter 3:
    15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

    When I first started out I feared reading the Pauline Epistles, because I use to believe that Calvinist have done the above scripture. Especially when they started preaching against what God convinced me of that He loved the world. I heard preacher's preach from Pauline Epistles, but it took me a long time for me to read them, mainly because of the above scripture I knew it was for the mature not for an infant as I was. When I over heard a young Christian ask someone where to start reading the Holy Bible the person told them to start in the Pauline Epistles. I thought to myself how dangerous of a place to start some who is just an infant.

    I started from the old Testament. I had no problem with it. How God would include non-elect if they have all males circumcised and those by faith who did was able to join in the passover. How God would protect His people from being corrupted by people around them that would never changed destroyed. How He saved the one who gave refuge to the spies from destruction. How He would send His beloved to non-elect that God knew can be saved even if it meant putting His own people in peril like He did with Jonah The prophets He would prepare even from the womb to prepare the way for His Son who would bring salvation to the world to those who trust in His name.

    Then reading the Gospels and seeing Jesus rejecting and disowning His own people who disowned Him and having a chosen elect then including non-elect like the women at the well who became a messenger to the Gentiles. Then telling the women that He only came for the lost sheep of Israel, but the women pleaded and said even a dog eats from the master table and Jesus helped her. Then you have the centurion who Jesus said had great faith

    Then when reading Paul I believe there is an elect those who are in Christ who is the chosen before the foundation of the world.

    You have Israel remnant who are meek and humble who trust in the name of the Lord. Then you have the gentiles who are included with them when the heard the Gospel of their salvation having believed. Then you have the Jews who can be grafted back in if they do not continue in their unbelief.

    Jesus say's if you remain in Him He will remain in you and He will not lose any that He has been given. I see it is those who trust in Jesus is the one's the Father gives to Him that He will not lose. I don't fear Paul's writing any more I embrace it. If I didn't approach the Pauline Epistles with fear that I would misunderstand would I be where I am today probably not.

    Those who have been convinced by God that God loved the world that He sent His Son, you will not get them to believe any different.

    We are all trying to understand the scripture even Calvinist. Those who have trusted in Christ is in no way headed for destruction. Christ would keep them. We all have so much to learn even me.

    I see the elect I will not disagree with it, nor will I disagree with the also included when they heard the Gospel of their salvation having believed.

    How do you think we should approach the Epistle of Paul and other scripture so that ignorant and unstable people don't distort them , as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.?

    Looks like no one wants to play ball with you, so I guess I will. I really appreciate the words you typed. They were sincerely from your heart, and that is how I try to post on here, with my heart.

    The only way to approach the Pauline Epistles, is the same way any of us must approach any of the 66 books, with prayer and meditation. If we ask for His knowledge in faith believing, I truly believe He will reveal things to us that we could not otherwise understand.

    Psalm109:32 quoted this:

    I bolded a section of you post to address it. This has went on for centuries, and they all fall by the wayside. Look at the RCC, LDS, Jimtown followers who drank poisioned kool-aid, those that died waiting to get on the comet trailing the "Hale-Bop"(sp?) comet, etc. There are so many people who will follow about anything you propose to them. All we can do is ask God to help those who are in darkness to come to the Light!! Even Apostle Paul was confronted with stuff like this:

    Acts 17:19 And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?

    20 For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

    21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

    22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

    23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

    It looks like these people were trying to cover "all the bases" in serving a god(s). It was kinda like Fred Sanford on Sanford and Son. He and his son, Lamont, were flying back to St. Louis. At the airport, Fred had rosary beads, a cross, a Star of David, and a Mojo. He stated that down here, he was baptist but up there, he wasn't taking any chances!!

    So this isn't something new today, but has been going on for centuries. All we can do is show them the Word, and pray that God enlighgtens them.

    i am I AM's!!

    Worship

    We don't worship a unknown God we know Him through Jesus His words and the words about Him. So we know Jesus who did not lift Himself up, but the Father the Father lifts up His Son. As we lift up Christ and at His feet the Son we give this glory to the Father and the Father say's He will lift us up. It is awesome to be in Christ and see the glory in Him.

    We have a mediator that those before us, only a few found.

    Job 9:
    32 “He is not a mere mortal like me that I might answer him,
    that we might confront each other in court.
    33 If only there were someone to mediate between us,
    someone to bring us together,
    34 someone to remove God’s rod from me,
    so that his terror would frighten me no more.
    35 Then I would speak up without fear of him,
    but as it now stands with me, I cannot.

    Job 16:
    18 “Earth, do not cover my blood;
    may my cry never be laid to rest!
    19 Even now my witness is in heaven;
    my advocate is on high.
    20 My intercessor is my friend
    as my eyes pour out tears to God;
    21 on behalf of a man he pleads with God
    as one pleads for a friend.

    We know Him, this mediator and now we can talk to God through Him that we have never knew of before, someone who is better than Moses who only can see the back side of God.

    1 John 2
    1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

    1 Timothy 6:
    ...These are the things you are to teach and insist on. 3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4 they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5 and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

    6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

    Matthew 24:
    24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.

    If the Elect cannot be deceived as some believe that they are perfect in their understand or cannot be lead to destruction then is those who do not believe as the Elect do who cannot be deceived being lead to their own destruction?

    You just quoted Scripture and then in the next breath oppose the text. An elect person will not be deceived.It's not possible.

    Point

    If two can't agree one is deceived and not the Elect then right, since the Elect can't be deceived?
