What is your personal philosophy? How do you validate it?

I'm curious because I am studying the subject and , I am trying to formulate my own [IMG]

    I
Mar 12:30-31 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

    II
Pro 3:5-8 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

    III
"You are free to choose, BUT, you are not free to choose the consequences of your choice!"

    IV
"Don't ever take yourself too seriously; as long as you can laugh at yourself, you'll never lack for amusement" :D

Being as how I don't normally think in terms of "philosophy", this is probably as close as I can come to "MY PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY" [IMG]

Oh, good luck in your studies!! [IMG]

The verses prior to this gives us an excellent example of how we should live.

Since God has formulated His plan for our perfection there is no need for us to formulate our own.

I validate mine by the Word of God, if it says it I believe it and follow it, not through my own power and efforts but through the strength of His Spirit.

My personal philosophy is that nothing is worth staying angry over.

Keep your mouth shut and you will never get into trouble.

if you want to help lift others up you must become a stepping stone (meaning you must be prepared for people to walk all over you). --KT

    oh, &
Life is like a box of... no wait that's someone else's "philo"
maybe its live long and prospect ?? [IMG] [IMG]

I'm not into working out. My philosophy: No
    pain, no pain.

Never try to wash a cat.

Never beat on somebody you got to go to sleep around.

You should never say anything to a woman that even
remotely suggests you think she's pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.

People who want to share their religious views
with you almost never want you to share yours with them

When God who created the entire universe with all
of its glories decides to deliver a message to humanity, He WILL NOT use, as His messenger, a person on cable TV with bad hair.

A person who is nice to you, but rude to the
waiter, is not a nice person.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

If it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would get done

    My hero is Bettle Bailey.
"I work hard at being lazy" [IMG]

I have also used these phrases:

"Those who have something to do, find a way,
    Others find an excuse"

"Its not what you do that counts,
its what you dont do that doesnt count
    thats what counts"

Back when I was a radio talk show host, I ended every prgrom with:
"When you remain silent, you have spoken"

Finally, most important is what I have listed on my profile:
"Until he is Lord of All, He is not Lord at All"

My philosophy at Tae Kwon Do while sparring: Hit the way you want to be hit. We all have jobs to go to in the morning, and none of us are here to hurt each other. But, if you want to use me as a punching bag, we are gonna throw down.

My philosophy at school: I think we spend too much time, effort, energy, and money trying to understand poverty and people of other races, and not enough time educating them and giving them the tools they need to be successful in life outside of a welfare line. The bottom line is, I don't really have time to feel sorry for you and all 218 other band members. I am too busy teaching you music, how to play your instrument, discipline, teamwork, and now, how to prepare for standardized tests which I am gonna be held responsible for when you blow it off and fail.

Raising my child: It takes a village to raise a child. The village begins with two Christian parents: A mom and dad. They are charged with the responsibility of working, feeding, clothing, housing, instilling Godly values, and teaching them the importance of education and personal responsibility. Next comes grandma and grandpa who are charged with supporting mom and dad in raising their children, spoiling the child and then sending them home. Next comes the Church which is responsible to pray for the child, preach the Word of God to our child. Next comes the school, which is charged with the job of educating my child and giving him the opportunity to be successful in life by giving him the tools he needs. They are not, IMO, responsible for what he does or does not choose to do with this educational opportunity. I would be responsible for that and so would he. Last and very least of all, is the state and federal government, which is charged with the responsiblility of protecting our borders from domestic and foriegn enemies who would harm my child and very little else. Heck, they don't even do a very good job with that.

My philosophy at Church: Don't try to sell me another Church Growth program, just Preach the Word of God and allow God to do the work of growing the church, Spiritually and numerically. For more about this, please see the book of Acts.

My philosophy on Justice: Micah 6:8

    All wonderful words.

Dr. Bob I like that and it's very true. If mom isn't happy no one else is. Very true words.

What I was hoping to accomplish with this tread is philosophy is the "Love of wisdom".

While in my philosophy class i've learned some of the things I have held dear, are not really correct. Just like when I was saved I learned that A LOT of the ways I lived my life were not correct. I really wasn't looking for a purpose, What I was looking for is .. Do you wonder why things are they way they are? Do you wonder why the grass is green? How do you appraoch it if you do. Alot of people on this thread have made it clear i'm too serious and I need to lighten up. Others have put thier feelings to rest in few humorous truer than life words. I thank you all .. This wasn't really a Theological thing more of .. Why is the grass green, when it could as easily be blue  Ok i'm going to stop before i freak people out

    God Bless!
