19 killed in Philippines airport bomb

MANILA, Philippines, March 4 — A powerful bomb ripped through the outside waiting area of an airport in the southern Philippines, killing at least 19 people and injuring some 150 others on Tuesday. Many of the injured were in serious condition, and officials feared the death toll could rise.

THE BLAST ROCKED the Davao airport on the island of Mindanao, where U.S. troops are training government soldiers to fight Muslim rebels.
Officials said around 150 people had been wounded, at least 20 of them seriously. Many of those who were hospitalized had shrapnel wounds, they said.
Two other explosions were reported in the area on Tuesday. Local officials told NBC that one person was killed and at least two wounded in Tagum, which is northwest of Davao.

I have so much admiration for those who go as Missionaries. They leave safety and go out and really try to make a difference to people who need it the most. Yet for some they give their lives for it.

    This is a real Hero.

Unlike a Terrorist who is simply a Coward.

Bill Hyde was a missionary from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. We, the current student body, faculty, staff, and alumni of SEBTS, mourn his death. However, we rejoice in that he is now in the presence of the Savior. All the cares of this life no longer weigh upon him. Bill is praising the Lord and basking in His glory! Please follow the link below to see a tribute written by SEBTS professor and noted scholar Dr. David Alan Black:

Thanks for the link, Bible Boy.

Let us all remember to keep our missionaries and their families in prayer. These are perilous times. [IMG]
