    Gwen, I miss my art stuff and not having a central tremor because I can SMELL the oils I want to use, feel the brush up against my cheek, hear that wonderful sound of the drafting board I used to use as an easel...hear it clicking into place as I get it at the perfect angle.

    Ah, Gina...I don't paint anymore, but I used to. I can still remember the smell of the linseed oil and the turpentine. You have made me remember how much I miss it! About a year ago, I bought some paints and canvas, but I have yet to start anything. *sigh*

    Maybe someday.

    Just to note location, in the deep south of South Dakota, in the haze at the top of the picture are the Missouri River bluffs of Nebraska.

    Our fall colors are in much more open spaces then Gwen's beautiful shot.

    Since I took these a couple weeks ago, we have had lows in the 20s a couple times and most leaves have now dropped.

    A belated Christmas foto

    BTW, I have the same thing with photobucket. The pics turn out different sizes and I have no idea why.

    Tell that to the guys in Minnesota! A friend I spoke with said the 40 mph winds piled up the few inches of snow into deep drifts.

    LAST year, the last week of March, everything was in full bloom...the earliest that I ever remember (here in S. Dak.) Many apple blossoms were hit with a freeze in April.

    THIS year, everything is still dead brown.
