Please Pray for Arthur Farnsworth, that he is not sent to prison for fighting for our Liberty.

Although Art and I disagreed on some important political differences when we ran against each other for U.S. Congress in 2004, I stand with him in his fight against the federal income tax fraud, a fight which has culminated in his trial for alleged tax evasion which starts on Monday, August 29, at the federal courthouse in Philadelphia.

Art never received an answer from the IRS for his two questions: what statute makes us liable for an income tax, and what statute requires us to file a 1040 tax return? Art's true patriotism to God and Country is not only shown in his fight against unjust taxation, which is listed in our Declaration of Independence, but it is also shown in his dedication to community as his church's choir director, organist, and periodic guest preacher.

    Yours in Christ,

These tax protester types who believe the IRS won't catch up to them are deluding themselves & others. I have seen it time and time again. Same tired arguments, eventual jail time for tax evasion. And so it goes.

Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's.

    Magnetic Poles,

Jesus knew that the Pharasies were trying to trap him. Jesus never said what was Caesar's.

God created the office of civil government, but God did not create the abuse of that office.

Randall Terry hits this nail on the head in his "Taking Back the Gates" Click Here.

Another abuse of government on taxes is land taxes Click Here.

First of all, in Matthew 22:15-22, Mark 12:13-17 and Luke 20:19-16, Jesus had been accosted by the wicked Pharisees, chief priests, scribes and Herodians. Their wicked question about tribute or taxes paid to Caesar was not an honest question but for the purpose of making Jesus look bad. He perceived their wickedness and refused to give them a direct answer. So He said, "You determine what you owe Caesar and what you owe God." I believe it is ludicrous for anyone from this indirect answer to rationalize the unlimited submission to government in any age by any person. Jesus in His answer never said to pay the tax or not to pay the tax but was only trying to keep from falling into their wicked trap. I think it is interesting that the only place in the Bible where we find a question about a Roman tax was from hypocrites, and nowhere is it recorded that Jesus ever paid a Roman tax.

Now this brings us to one last scripture found in Matthew 17:24-27. This is the only scripture where Jesus personally addresses Peter about taxes. As one reads these verses, he will discover at least four truths.

    1. The tax in this passage has to do with the Temple tax, not the Roman tax.

    2. The Temple tax was a poll tax and was levied annually upon all Jewish males for the upkeep of the Temple.

    3. Jesus commanded Peter to pay this Temple tax for them both.

    4. Nowhere in this scripture or any other scripture did Jesus ever tell Peter or other believers to "Render unto Caesar..."

Now that we have rightly divided the word of truth, what should be our truthful conclusion?

Maybe someone can answer the questions? Is it a matter of law or not?

The question was, what statute or law states that we must pay an income tax, and what law states that one must file a 1040 form?

Seems to be a very simple question and one easily answered if there were a law as such.

Maybe we're just assuming there's a law that says we have to do it. Haven't really thought about it till now. All you folks who say there is one could surely direct us to it.

My memory is vague on this point, but wasn't a question raised several years ago concerning the legal ratification of the constitutional amendment authorizing income taxes? I seem to recall even some mainstream politicians arguing that several legislatures ratified language that was different from the actual proposal, and therefore invalid. I also recollect that the courts have viewed this as a political issue, and refused to examine the question of validity. Anybody remember any of this?

If the amendment was not legally ratified, then haven't we been paying federal income taxes for decades based on a constitutional authority that is fraudulent? (Before anybody jumps on me, I do pay my taxes... I'm just curious).

Sorry. I can't support the guy.

I have plenty of problems with the way taxes are collected and regulated, but playing schoolyard games is not the way to protest them.

He did something stupid and now he's paying the consequences.
