Poll: Keeping in mind the world situation, political situation, the US foreign trade deficit, illegal aliens coming into our country, corruption and alleged corruption in our elected officials, moral decline of our nation, recent rulings of the Supreme Court, Roe v Wade, crime, inflation, energy, attacks upon Christianity, the "wall" between Church & State, technology, erosion of our Constitutional rights, natural disasters, threats of terrorist attacks, and your own specific circumstances and that of your immediate family - the overall picture - this is a poll about your world view on America - 20 Years from Now.

    LadyEagle,

Good P°ll, I do not see America as being here as we know it. It is clear we are living in the last days. I am looking for the Lord to rapture His saints just any day now. If this happens, then the tribulation period will be for 7 years and we will return to this earth to rule and reign with Christ for 1000 years. I do not see ungodly people in control 20 years from now.

I agree that America as we now know it will cease to exist.

Good Poll, LadyEagle. Without a doubt , I do believe Americas future is rather bleak but the good news is that Jesus is coming again.

    1. Yes.
    2. No.
    3. Yes.
    4. No.
    5. No.
    6. Disagree.
    7. Other - hopefully retired from my present company and still engaged in competitive dog training.
    8. Neither conservative or liberal - conservative on cultural issues and centrist otherwise.
    9. Jesus is now and always has been the Ruler of this present world. I see nowhere in the Bible where God has ever abdicated His throne as King of kings and Lord of lords.
    10. The last days could be thousands of years from now - no one knows. I figure that technology will continue to improve and make our lives better. Man has been in trouble morally since The Fall in the Garden of Eden and I expect that to continue.

I think the USA will be crushed by debt both nationally and increasingly personally. The division between rich and poor will continue to grow while the middle-class decreases. With all our natural resources, good climate, fertile soil and relatively sparse population, I doubt we will descend to third world status in the short term - unless ownership of most of our resources becomes concentrated into the hands of the very few.

I'm curious to see how the next twenty years play out.

The so-called Islamo-fascism will implode as internal strife and cultural & denominational differences come to the forefront. Islam is no more monolithic than Christianity and internal strife will prevent any sort of world domination. If and when Saudi money and influence diminishes, there will be a backlash of moderation, tolerance and reason.

There's part of your problem Ken. He's the rejected King, seated at the father's right hand in Heaven.

satan claimed all of earth and thus offered it to Christ for His worship.

IICor 4:4 The god of this world, blinded them so they couldn't see the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ....i should have loooked it up...but that's one verse.

Luke 4:[5] And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
[6] And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
[7] If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

[8] And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

It would not have been a temptation if it wasn't true that Satan is the temporary ruler of this world.

Being rejected makes Him no less the KING. God cannot and will not ever be diminished by the actions of His creation.

God, not man, not Satan, is LORD.

According to Peter in Acts 2:17, the last days
began on the day of Pentacost, 33AD:

    Acts 2:17 (HCSB = Christian Standard Bible /Holman, 2003/ ):
And it will be in the last days, says God,
    that I will pour out My Spirit on all humanity;
then your sons and your daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

The last days started 2005-33 = 1,972 years ago.
The 'last days' are already One Thousand, Nine Hundred,
    and Seventy-Two years old.
The 'last days' will continue until the
    pretribulation rapture takes place.

ALL SEEM TO AGREE that our kids are going to have a much harder row to hoe. Those with sufficient common sense and who are willing to work harder, longer, and/or smarter will do OK.

It is obvious that some economic/political systems are more efficient than others but my Libertarian friends seem to think a change of system changes one's place on the food chain. I generally disagree. Having common sense includes knowing how to work the system.

</font>[/QUOTE]You stated that Jesus is now and always has been ruler of this present world. How could satan offer all the world to someone that already has rule over it?

See LE's post above, and thank you LE.

    1. You are assuming that Satan had a total understanding of Whom he was dealing with.

    2. You are assuming that Satan actually had the power to do what he claimed.

My God has always, is currently, and always will be King of kings and Lord of lords.

I feel sorry for you that apparently the Being that you conceive of as God apparently has His reign restricted by His creation.

Hillclimber, your God is too small.

I believe he did. Remember, when Jesus was first born, he had all the babies killed in the region, cause he wasn't sure which one it was. But over a period of 33 years, it became pretty obvious.

If he didn't, it wouldn't have been a temptation.

He doesn't. When Jesus conquered Death, He broke the chains of Death and Sin. But He doesn't come back to Earth as the Rightful Ruler until He comes back to set up His literal kingdom on earth.

Satan rules the present earth but within certain parameters/restrictions that God has allowed. He is the ruler of the princes and principalities. Jesus will assume His Rightful Throne as the Lion of Judah one day. Literally.

If Jesus were ruling the earth now, there would not be sin. There would be no need for the Holy Spirit to be here on earth.

    http://www.enduringword.com/commentaries/6605.htm

When you dismiss things as just being figurative and not literal in the Bible, you miss a lot.
