Pretrib, Premilleniallism as peddled by LaHaye et al is contrary to the offical teaching of Rome, not to mention centuries of historic Christian consensus. It's no wonder they are denying that such a statement was made by the aging pope.

Actually, they did not deny that the Pope made the statement. They just said that he has no recollection of making the statement. As a lifelong Catholic from Boston said:

When I read the first post above I couldn't believe he (the pope) could read it in a months time. :(
BTW, Are Catholics pre, mid, post or pan tribers (it all pan out in the end)? [IMG]

Sounds fishy, like 'it is as it was' about the Passion of the Christ.
Now did he really say it or not.

If I'm not mistaken, RCs are basically "post-trib, a-mill", although I'm not sure they'd call it that.

Boy, you guys will believe anything on the internet. It's a fabrication. Just look at the other articles in this publication. Not a real press release from the Vatican.

I personally find the amount of stuff on this site dedicated to Apocalyptic events rather strange.... it is something that I do not really focus on I guess and I am surprised how much energy people put into this topic.....

Same here. Every generation of Christians, including the original Apostles, has believed that it would happen in their lifetime, and it hasn't.

If you guys think this is as bad as the world can get, I got news for ya [IMG]

My concern is with my PRESENT walk with Christ. Not the exact turn of events that will occur at some point in the future maybe or maybe not in my lifetime.

You are correct on all three counts. They are Post-Trib Amillenial but would not call it that by any means---Catholics take pride in not even using the same terminology for the same things as Protestants do.

Offically though, the church refuses to be dogmatic and will allow individual catholics to hold to different views of end times.

    Kathryn,

If you will take a look at my profile, and then click on view recent posts, and then take a look at where I posted other parodies in other parts of the board, just for kicks, I think you will find the truth that I knew it was a hoax before I posted it here. Really. Try it out... :D

Actually, the Holy Father can read and write in eight languages. His mind is still very sharp, although his body is failing with Parkinson disease.
