Ok lets be honest here....When pornographic pops up on your computer because of a site you have innocently been at; allows the advertisement, do you hurry and try to get it off....or do you need to look further?

Is pornography an issue with you?

My son was innocently looking at a web site; he is 15 years old. A pop up came on. It was very enticing and he went through the procedures to see more of what was going on. Needless to say, we had a very long talk.

But I know not only 15 year old boys are enticed by this. But grown men are. Even girls and women are.

    So what about you?

When I was in the Air Force, I was married to a man that doesn't even deserve to be called that.

He was addicted to porn, and our marriage was eventually ended when he purchased a prostitute with my money.

Pornography is one of the sickest and evil, and enticing sins out there.

It is STILL something that I battle.

Once exposed to it, it becomes a way in which the devil leads you to sin against God.

Don't ever even 'check it out'.

It will NEVER be erased from your memory.

    God Bless

Porn is one of the most insidiuos tools of the devil. I use popup blockers just because of popup porn ads.

Let us be careful folks how we express ourselves and how much we are sharing about this (adult) subject. There are young folks here, who only read but never post. Let us, therefore, communicate matters in a way which edifies and not titillates the mind. Thank you! [IMG]

I don't visit pornographic sites, and I don't have pornographic pop-up ads. However, I've gotten emails of an adult (though not pornographic) nature. So, this is for all those advertisers out there:

I'm not interested in having my breasts augmented!!!!

    Thanks,
    Johnv

I delete them just like any other popup, only quicker. I think porn might be a much bigger problem now with the internet, it is more excessable now. I've got a son who I have to keep an eye on my computer and the history on it. I ahve warned him my computer is not for dishonoring God.

There are some good Computer magazines out there that come with a Free CD, the one I get is called "Net Guide". I installed Pop up Killer and no more problems.

When i first got the internet I really discovered what a problem this issue is. The best advice I can give you if your Partner or sibling may be having a problem in this area, is to increase the records on sites visited, and let them know you will be checking it on a regular basis.

There is also a Christian ministry which can email your visited sites to a nominated friend to keep it sweet.

We have a filter with no password over ride...so we do not have this problem. We would not have a computer in our home without it!

Same here, and my aunt is not interested in housewives either.

I like popup blockers like popup stopper
    www.panicware.com
because they don't have to be told what to block, they automatically block every popup but let you hold ctrl or shift when clicking on a link for when you want a window to popup. The nice thing about a system like that (compared to the popup killer I tried before where you had to tell it which popups to block) is it's fairly transparent. It's hard to be tempted by something that you're not aware of, so if you never see the popup, you won't be tempted to look at it longer. The icon in the system tray is the only clue that the popup was blocked which is useful for when it blocks a window that you want to see so that you'll remember to hold ctrl. Norton Internet Security also has parental control and ad blocking features which work well.

We, as Christians are told to stand strong against satan, except for two specific sins: idolatry and sexual sin. Those two we are required to run away from, and with good reasoning. They appeal to the flesh of everyone, and are easy to get hooked into, and satan know this. Make no mistake, he's not stupid. In Genesis 3:1, it calls him the serpent, but the origonal Hebrew means that he is the shining one, and subtil is translated as wise, so the shining one is more wise than any beasts that God had made. He was able to lead astray two people who physically walked with God, what can he do to those of us who haven't physically seen God??

Time is short, and he knows it. Be on guard, wearing the whole armor of God. [IMG]

Jude vv.14-16 is one of the many passages that show what unbridled lust, among other sins, really has to offer.

So many men have been snared by pop up porno or emails that are disguised. Not only adult men but teenage young men. Even preachers are destroying their ministry because of this.

I believe the church fails in this area because if the church dealt with teaching parents that they need to give sex education at home then young men would understand the danger in porno.

I was listening to tapes called The song of Solomon and the speaker was stating that 85% of individuals get their sex education from friends, books, porno and the secular teachings at school and we wonder why this is a problem for Christians and why the divorce rate is as high in the church as in the secular world.

The church has gotten so lax with this easy believism that has swept the country. Everyone wants to live the way they want to live with no consideration for anything. Even though the Bible speaks out against living like the world the majority of the church still has its feet in the world.

Churches need to have accountablility groups for men, women and teenagers. Preachers need to get off their hands off soap boxes and become more accessible to their people. The ministry needs to be a calling and exactly what it is called "A Ministry" instead of a 9-5 job.

Our so called Super Church society where we have multi thousand churches across the nation is not helping but hurting. There is no way there is enough accountability in those churches. There is no way there is enough individual attention given.

I have asked individuals why they go to those big churches and invariably I get the same answer. "No one messes with me. I don't want anyone trying to tell me how to live my life."
    They don't want accountability.

I have been to churches with 1000 people attending and rarely did the people get the attention they needed.
