Three men (not pictured) from a remote Hmong village were arrested in October 2013 and taken to the district governor, who told them to recant their faith in Jesus Christ. But the believers refused to recant, telling the governor that they would not leave their faith because their lives had been changed by God. “It is important for Christians to know the Bible and the Lao law,” our VOM contact said, as Christians are by law allowed to practice their faith. The VOM contact sent someone to discuss the matter with the district governor, and the three Christians were released without further problems.
