Hi I am seventeen turning eighteen in march and I feel called to the ministry. I was wondering what is the strongest argument for the Pre-tribulational rapture? I myself identify as a hopeful pre-tribber but accept the possibility of the Rapture happening in the middle or [I more likely am leaning on] after the Tribulation. I would like a civil discussion on the Rapture. I personal am looking forward to Jesus coming back.

    Welcome to the board.

I will give you my opinion.

From the time of the Apostles' beginning assemblies the people have been encouraged to "look up, the Lord's coming."

There are Scriptures that can be taken in the light of a rapture. Such passages as "one taken the other left," the parable of the virgins, even some of the writing from Paul.

But remember, there isn't a place that says, "The rapture will happen...."

What is presented in the Scripture is that when believers see certain events they are to look up for the redemption. That is, don't be discouraged, don't be dismayed, don't be disheartened and don't chase after folks who would lead you astray by saying Christ is here or there, has already come, or isn't ever coming.

Also, remember that, prior to the rapture, there is the promise of a growing apostasy. Folks will chase after what is pleasing in worship rather than the truth. Folks will not endear themselves to sound doctrine, but chase foolish and vain questions of little value. And most of all, the Scriptures promise that God will allow (send) a very strong delusion so much so that folks will believe a lie implying that the truth will seem a foolish jest to them. That worship of the creature and worship of sciences of the creature will be greater than that of God.

I will add this other caution.

Do not embrace the rapture as some great escaping. Noah endured tremendous scorn and horrible mockery, so will believers. The rapture does not keep the believers from trouble and tribulation. The rapture signifies that WHEN the believers removed that already present and increasing trouble and tribulation may become that GREAT tribulation and trouble.

Now, having given that bit of advice, let me state that on the BB there will be a lot of discussions about this view or that view, and I suggest that you search the Scriptures for what the Holy Spirit will guide you as to the truth. As you read what is presented, allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate your mind, to present to you the wisdom as He deems it necessary to unfold.

You are young. I am old. When I was 17 going on 18 the world was a much different place than it is now. The one thing that you MUST do, MUST NOT neglect to do, and MUST devote much time in doing, is reading and meditating upon the Scriptures. Memorize the Scriptures. Fill your mind and heart with the Scriptures. Abstain from the foolishness of this world, and the lusts thereof. One should not expect to receive of God, and have fellowship with the world and worldly. Be sober, be vigilant, the adversary desires you for his sustenance.

I am Pre-Trib. End of subject for me. Yes, we will go through much tribulation but not as the heathen will.

I liken it to this. Would any father sit by and watch any child of his suffer the terrible tribulation(s) as is reserved for and described for those who reject our Lord? No.

After doing research and reading scripture I have decided to stick with being a Pre-trib hopeful. If the Church does go through the Tribulation I will none the less look forward to Jesus Christ Coming back. But if we get raptured up I'll still look forward to Jesus' secound Advent.
