Our President understands this and leads knowing that some things happen by time and chance even to the fastest, strongest, wisest, and most skillful of nations or their leaders. It seems we're often not in control to the extent we might believe mankind should be by his own abilities. The President knows, in the end, its all up to one infinitely more powerful than any of us mere mortals. Therefore, like all of us, he prays humbly for God Almighty's blessings.

Where have I controlled the debate in the thread I started.

You are wrong and you call me a liar every time you question my motivation, which I have stated numerous times. Your desire seems to be that in threads on specific topics everyone agree with the President on every issue. Why is it wrong to have one thread totally for positive comments? Negative comments about the president are not welcome on this thread.

Since there are only four pages left on this thread I am going to ignore all further attacks and accusations and only use this time to say what I think is good about our president.

Please, please, please stick to that topic. We are running out of space.

President Bush would rather have people work than recieve welfare.

Brother C4K, you're confusing church mouse guy's comments with my questions about your reasons for starting this thread which were brought about by your own comments.

Friend, you interjected your on personal thoughts into this thread which reveal, at the very least, a possible hidden reason for starting the thread. It is only fair that others be able to question your motives. Asking that question is not "attacking" you nor calling you a "liar". Questions from fellow Christians need not be taken in that manner.

"Now, back to the pro-president comments ...", as you've said, which by the way, I have made several.

He mangles the English language at times. Makes him more human. [IMG]

Then when he speaks loud and clear in plain English such as, "You're either with us or against us.", many don't like it.

    I do.

I like that as well, Carpro! He just seems like a "real" person verses a "made for Hollywood" type.

    Bring 'em on!

    Galatian,

Haven't "seen" you in awhile! Great to see/hear you again (maybe I just haven't paid attention)!

CK4, I think that you started this topic with good intentions, even though you're not a fan of President Bush. It was a generous gesture.

Bush is a good guy and he doesn't cave in to criticism. That can be a very positive thing.

I am impressed that from the time he arrived on the Gulf Coast on Friday the president has admitted that there was a general breakdown and that the response was not sufficient. He did not try to shift the blame.

He will support a fair review of what happened at every government level - city, parish, state, and federal - with the goal of finding ways to do better. He will push for constructive critique verses blaming and complaining. He will stand strong agasint considerable obstacles in the way of attaining that goal.

I think he has done a great job and I am proud to say I voted for him twice. I appreciate his stand for Christ and that he is not ashamed to acknowledge Jesus Christ and prayer as guiding influences in his life. I think he backs up what he says with his walk.

He has brought dignity and respect back to the office of President.

    D68,

Why didn't I get amened when I said

I am glad President Bush was president on 9/11. All crirticism of his actions on that day are unjust. He had the perfect balance of wisdom and courage.

</font>[/QUOTE]It was probably just timing, definately questions, but certainly no offense intended.

Are we getting off topic again or is that okay now that you're asking the questions?

Trying for a note of levity here - apologies for my attempt to lighten the air.

And I did post a praise- see above.

There's no need to apologize for wanting to lighten the air. I'm very okay with that! I'm sometimes a grouchy snappy stubborn mean old goat but I sure don't mind laughing off silly disagreements and moving on to more constructive things.
