I've been reading The Love of Christ by Richard Sibbes, published as a Banner of Truth Puritan paperback. This is a series of sermons by Sibbes on the Song of Solomon, originally published with the interesting title of Bowels Opened.

It's just wonderful! Our Lord is presented to us in such a wonderful way, it brings tears to my eyes, softie that I am.

Some of the 17th Century Particular Baptists are now being reprinted. These men were IMO true Puritans. John Bunyan wrote a lot of stuff other than Pilgrim's Progress. Try Come & Welcome to the Lord Jesus Christ and The Jerusalem Sinner saved, both published by BoT. I also recently got two books by Benjamin Keach from Solid Ground Christian Books. One was The marrow of True Justification which is one of the very best works on Justification that I've read. The other was The Travels of True Godliness which is an allegory somewhat similar to Pilgrim's Progress. Both very well worth reading, and the language is quite easy.

I would have thought you would have Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners on that list.

I find it to be tedious. You want a good book, read Martyn Lloyd Jones book on Christs teachings on the Sermon on the mount. Thats direct and to the point.

It isn't a story illustrated biblical doctrine. It is biblical doctrine explained.
