I am getting some red flags with the person I am dating. She claims to have left the Church of God 7th Day, but as I later have learned (obviously this was not advertised on eharmony and during initial conversations) she left only because of social reasons, but holds fully to the churches doctrines and thinks that this group is okay. These are some serious issues. Also the fact that her family never celebrates Christmas, Thanksgiving, and other holidays is another issue. On top of that she seems to be bi-polar. She goes on extremes of contacting me constantly, and then not much at all during mood swings.

However from what I gather she does desire God, and there s a chemistry between us. Regardless perhaps it is time to sign up for Eharmony and Christian Cafe again. I do have profiles but probably will need to edit them and find criteria. Those of you that are married what are some good things to look for? Obviously finding someone in the local church is the best plan, it is not the only method, and plenty these days get married using these dating sites as our singles group has seen success stories.

I have a list of criteria but would like to see other input.

Is this the same woman of the much-justified weekend sleepover?

False alarm. All is well between us. She just needs to see a doctor about some things, which she has agreed to do.

    Lights and sirens are blaring.

A desire for God can happen at any age but maturity is something that takes time with the right kind of attitude. Maturity enough for marriage is quite different than immaturity on its way to becoming maturity.

If you want one in the worst way you will get one exactly like that--in the worst way.

I don't know bud; I'm seeing mood swings and extremes coming from all directions, if you know what I mean. I'd advise you to take this relationship slow for both your sakes.

I guess a doctor will help the following items?

You are going to do whatever it is that you want to do, so I don't know why you bother with these threads. You aren't going to follow any advice you get and all these threads do is continue to make you look ridiculous. I would seriously suggest you learn to refrain.

is that church considered to be a true christian church?
Does she hold to same Gospel and Jesus that we in the christian church hold to?

it sounds like she is in Armstrong church, if so, that is a cult, heretic doctrines, and with those mentall illness concerns...

Would say that I would back way off, and leave this entire situation to the lord!

Singleness isn't about finding the "right person"...its about becoming the right person.

Perhaps you could go ahead and evangelize her, as is done for other people needing a correct apprehension of The Lord.

As well, the instructions from Apostle Paul about remaining single for the sake of better serving The Lord are to be a first consideration. Praise God for the clarity and power of His Word for us today.

    Another AMEN!

When the Lord is ready for you to find the "right person" you will. If you try to rush His timetable, you know what can happen.

Genesis 16:15 KJV And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.

    evangelist6589,

If you think her mood swings are bad now....wait until you have that first kid!

    Run, don't walk.

And don't EVER marry a woman if she's the baby of the family unless you like being married to someone who always got their way all the time.

Not celebrating the holidays while you do? That could be a BIG problem.
