    The answer is bad exegesis...

Why does Jesus need a throne if He is set down with the Father in the Father's Throne?

We, because of the way we have been brought up to believe in one man rule, a 'Monarch', whether in church or government... Tend to view the word 'Throne' as singular.

Perhaps it isn't? Perhaps as I said it refers more to a 'seat of authority'.

Also, just because I am Trinitarian in basic belief doesn't mean that I can equate God to three separate 'physical' entities requiring three separate physical thrones.

God *is* a Spirit... (Boy, could that in itself get nasty [IMG] )

God *is* one... Yet, persists in three separately identifiable personality attributes.

We know God is not the author of confusion but of a sound mind so He is not bi-polar, schizo, or other form of 'unsoundness'.

If I as a mere man could properly and completely define and explain the concept of the Trinity I would have lowered God to something equal to man.

Because to understand something, fully, is to have mastered it. (Might be a warning to know-it-all higher-than-thou down-the-nose 'religious' folk?)

The fact is, is that the 'Oneness' folks have to jump through far more hoops to make a case for 'Jesus Only' than I do as a Trinitarian.

(Besides I have more Scripture alluding to a literal three partness, anyway.)

So, I believe Occam's Razor states that the simplest explanation is almost always the most correct one?

Besides, if your primary mode of existence is in Spirit Form, what would you do with a Physical Throne anyway? :D

Though there are very few oneness churches in my area I grew up in a town where oneness Pentecostal made up a high percentage of the population.
I grew up with friends that were oneness and found them to be people that love Jesus and they love people. Nobody can call Jesus Lord except by the Holy spirit and they certainly lived up to this criteria.
They Baptize in Jesus Name but can give scriptural reasons as to why they believe this.
I have been Baptized in The name of the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost but I would never break fellowship with someone that has been baptized in Jesus Name. I have prayed and fellowshipped with oneness people and believe that they are my brothers and Sisters in Christ.

atestring, would you mind clearing something up? In you quote above, you said, "They baptize in Jesus Name but can give scriptural reasons as to why they believe this."

Is the word "can" meant to say "can't?" Surely you didn't mean to say that they can't give scripture to back up water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Because they are the three-in-one, only one throne is needed.

All I know is that I won't be sitting on a throne in heaven but I will be casting my crown at The feet of Him that sits on the throne and unto the Lamb.

</font>[/QUOTE][IMG] Maybe its kinda like a senario(sp?), when you go over to your dads house and he is sitting in that lazy boy recliner... and thats the best seat in the house.....so you sit on the arm of the chair. :D
Read Rev. 22:3 and tell me if thats what it sounds like, although its still one throne and it says ....the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Maybe we figure all of this out when we get to heaven.
Meanwhile lets just love Jesus and walk in the Spirit and love one another.
