Here is a good strategy for buying a car. Buy a car that is 5 years old with less than 50,000 miles and drive it for three years. Then sell it. If you drive it the average amount (15,000 miles per year) you can sell it for about what you paid for it. This strategy allows you to drive a car for only the cost of gas, insurance, and maintenance.

When you dislike driving as much as I do, a used car is good enough as long as it runs OK. I only drive when I absolutely HAVE to do it.

I bought my 93 Aerostar in the year 2000. Engine still runs great, but the tranny may need some work and the body is disappearing (rusting away).
