Republicans Haven’t Learned The Lessons Of 2012

No they didn't. Had Trump not come along they would be in the situation the DNC is now. The only question now is did they learn from this election.

 

Nope doesn't need to change its message it needed to stand strong on it instead of backing down like weaklings when the going gets tough. It needed to not put its energy behind candidates that have the so called appearance of being electable. And we still need to get rid of the likes of Ryan and McConnel.

 

Well, I hope this contrary attitude and thinking carries over into governance and we get something different.

President-elect Donald Trump revealed Wednesday that he consults with President Barack Obama on some of his potential appointments -- and values the President's views.

"I have asked him what he would think of this one and that one," Trump told NBC's Matt Lauer on "The Today Show." "I take his recommendations very seriously," Trump added.

Trump also said he has talked to Obama about his perspective on the greatest challenges facing America.

"I've asked him what he thinks are the biggest problems, greatest assets," Trump said in the interview with Lauer, which was focused on Trump being named on Wednesday as Time's "Person of the Year." "We have very good dialogue."

I saw what you said. Didn't disagree about the message. Trump won because he was straight forward and blunt. People trust that more than political speak. He also had a message people wanted to hear. People do not want to hear that manufacturing jobs are going away unless they take some far left job manufacturing in the dead before it got started green industry. Etc.

 

Another problem - Coal miners and Hillary's statement to the effect that she would be putting a lot of coal miners out of work (oops).

Then she tried to wriggle her way out of that one when she was called down by saying that there would be retraining available to the unemployed miners.

OK what happens while we wait for the retraining (should it ever actually happen)?

I am not sure what here exact words were, but regardless it was unwise. The real culprit for coal miners who are out of work is the declining demand for coal and the advances in technology that reduce the need for miners to extract coal.

Obama also had the goal of putting the coal mine business out of business:

“So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them, because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted,” Obama said during a 2008 interview with the San Francisco Chronicle’s editorial board. Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton also pledgedthat “We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.”

The left has been on a war against jobs in this country because those jobs do not fit their narrative. It is unamerican. This has been the primary reason these jobs have disappeared.
