Sometimes people tell us things that aren't true.

The "war on terror" is just another bust in my opinion. Just like the "war on drugs" How long have we been fighting the war on drugs, and yet today it's worse than ever before.

If we were really fighting a war on terror, and it stemed from the fact that we were attached on 9-11 why is it that we haven't gotten OBL? Why is it that he is on the "back burner"

We're not fighting a war on terror. That is just something they tell us to "keep us in line" and allow them to do as they wanted to.

While I support our military and admire those who are serving (and who have served), for the most part, what we are fighting has nothing to do with 9-11. Maybe that's why we aren't fighting the "war against OBL" or "the war against Al Queida" but the more vague, "War on Terror."

Actually, are we currently under a declaration of war?

No. We haven't been since World War II.

As Ken said, no we are not under a war, however to hear people talk about it, you would think we were.

We are suppose to trust in the Lord and know that he will handle and take care of all things. It is sad to see so many people fearful and not more trusting.

Also, with me suggesting that this "war on terror" is a bust, that doesn't dimish my support for our troops. I feel they are doing a heck of a job, I just feel their leaders for steering them wrong.

I actually agree with you on this one, Jamie. We aren't fighting a so-called "war on terror." Won't be a declared war until Congress declares war according to our Constitution. Congress will never declare war again because of all the international interests, i.e., free world trade.

I have always wondered why they tell us they can see a nickel on my driveway from outer space but can't find OBL. It seems curious. All of this is a ruse to push us into a One World Government. Like you, I support our troops. Not the mission they are obliged to fulfll by our globalist leaders who are really in business dealings (some would say cahoots) with our stated enemies.

    Agreed, EG, agreed.

I only read the first couple of pages, but here goes:

I would not support taking religious freedoms from Muslims but LE raises some good points: neither should Christians or anyone else give up any rights to a favored Islam, as in cases where the ADA is allowed to be ignored in the case of the dog and the taxi.

As to immigration, we do have a right as a sovereign nation to allow or disallow any in that we wish. We should drastically curtail the number of Muslims allowed in as many of those already here seem slow to assimilate as indicated by the number madrassas that are sprouting up, preaching and teaching hatred against America. The French are paying a dear price for the number of Muslims they have allowed in their country (yes, I understand that unemployment of those Muslims is the reported reason for the violence; the point remains, however). Curtailing immigration is not a religious liberty or religious establishment issue, it is simply a means to preserve and protect our culture from another that has demonstrated violent intent and at the least passive apathy toward that violence by their co-religionists.

I would like to see the number of folks that we allow to immigrate - regardless of religion or lack thereof - drastically reduced for the forseeable future to allow all of the recent immigrants time to assimilate into our society and continue to do so until we deal with our illegal alien problem.

I agree Ken - ALL immigration needs to be controlled to clean things up.

Back to the purpose of this thread, how the Constitution could or should be re-written to deprive religious rights to Muslims.

I don't think it should be touched. American Christians have grown fat, lazy, and lethargic under the law as it is. Religious freedom has created a comfort zone for us. Now that religious freedom threatens to help someone else we panic. Our comfort zone is threatened and we want the state to help us.

We don't need the state's protection. I want her to keep her grubby paws off of my freedoms. If we can't tolerate freedom for others than maybe our faith is in the state instead of in the Lord. Maybe we need a shake-up to get our dependence back where it needs to be - on the King of kings instead of on wicked, sinful government leaders.

Leave the Constitution alone, lets get in the word and on our knees and prepare for the battle the way God's want us to prepare.

Thanks, LE and Wayne. Doing well here. Have some personal things going on keeping me busy, plus I don't presently have near the computer time available that I used to. I miss the debates here but hope to be back "at full strength" before too long.

I'll also throw out a hello to my other friends on this thread, Ken, Roger, MP, and carpro (and my good friends BiR and TH out there somewhere). Have missed the exchanges. The prayers of all my friends here are coveted. I am seeing some blessings and answered prayers here.

    God's richest blessings to all.

    Just a side comment.

I heard or read somewhere sometime back that the War on Drugs has been our longest and most expensive war.

All slogans become tiresome after awhile.
