    Do you have a link? Because I can't find anything using Google. In any case, what positions on issues does he take that run counter to tea party issues?

    Where in the world do you get that idea? Found this...

    Rick Santorum: Cut Federal Funding for Planned Parenthood

    As he campaigned in Iowa on Sunday, Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has restated his support for cutting off federal taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

    Santorum has repeatedly called for de-funding the Planned Parenthood abortion business and, earlier this year, told the SBA List pro-life group, “If you look at Planned Parenthood; if you look at the abortion industry…they fight every single regulation every single bit of information that should be given to the patient, they all fight it as an affront to the right of abortion.”

    In April, Santorum urged Indiana governor Mitch Daniels to sign a bill the state legislature approved de-funding Planned Parenthood.

    “I can’t imagine any other organization with its roots as poisonous as the roots of Planned Parenthood getting federal funding of any kind,” Santorum said. “This is an organization that was founded on the eugenics movement, founded on racism — I mean, it’s horrific. It’s origins are horrific. And you can say, ‘well it’s not that anymore.’ It’s not far from where it was in my opinion.”

    What leads you to believe he wants to increase the size of government? He supports a balanced budget amendment, was in favor of the cut, cap, and balance bill during the debt ceiling debate. Yes, he reluctantly voted for the final deal, but increasing the debt ceiling limit is not directly related to being in favor of increasing the size of government.

    When 'etc.' is used it indicates that there is more to the list that is being discussed but is unmentioned. What is the etc. that you accuse Santorum of being on the wrong side of the issues?

    Better vote for him soon. He won't be a candidate much longer.

    We vote January 21, so unless he pulls a Michele Bachmann, he will be on the ballot.

    I still think many like myself are hoping for an alternative to Romney and Paul. Didn't expect much from NH but we'll see what happens in SC, then FL. So many are saying Romney has it wrapped up but I think those kind of statements may give Santorum another surge. If Santorum makes a strong showing in SC I'd say, "game on".

    I agree. I still say this man is the best choice of electable people now running. I was hoping he would get more votes tonight. I still cannot figure out why Gingrich, Perry, and Huntsman say Paul is unelectable when he creamed all three in the primary.

    I think so many are saying that either because that's just what they think they have to say because the press says it, or maybe because he (Romney) has Haley's endorsement. (I didn't vote for her either - blech!) I am really tired of hearing the press repeat it. I am going to think for myself and vote Santorum. Game on!

    Romney is saying that he has it all wrapped up. That's what he is supposed to say. Same deal with him as with a pro sports team in the playoffs...

    The PRESS is saying that Romney has it all wrapped up... THAT is the spin that I've been talking about. :wavey:

    I'm not sure anyone really expected a true conservative like Santorum to show well in Romney's backyard. That is just about a given.

    Let's see how he fares in some of the other states, and after he finds a few PACs supporting his efforts.

    I haven't heard anything in the press about delegate numbers. By my count Romney has 17 and Santorum has 13, after New Hampshire. Am I correct on that? Please tell me if I'm not, for I could have missed something, but if so, how can the press with a straight face say this race is already wrapped up?

    They're not saying that. It's an obsession with glfrederick to assert that the press picks the Republican nominee. The reality is that the press wants to create a contest so they have something to write about.

    Here are some sample headlines from today:

    Thank you for the updated delegate numbers, and also the headlines. Those are good to see. Let's hope network and cable news catch on because I've heard mostly "Romney inevitability" comments today from the anchors and those interviewed.

    The main one; Small government. I had a different video that had him attacking the Tea Party, but this is the best I can do:

    Santorum voted in favor of Title X funds for "Family Planning" services, to be paid to planned parenthood.

    Uh, have you heard of the bridge to nowhere?

    Lets see: He abstained from a vote to ALLOW ABORTION in military medical facilities, (S. 2514)...

    Voted for No Child Left behind

    Voted for Extensive government power grabs, such as in the case of Medicare part D.

    Etc., etc.... :wavey:

    This delegate count is incorrect. First, it would not split this way, even if the vote in Iowa were binding. It would be split proportionally over all candidates that got over 15 percent of the vote. So it would look something like 9/8/7

    But again, it does not work that way. Instead, the Iowa Caucas is a non-binding straw poll. The REAL selection takes place after the vote. Nominees are selected to go and vote in June for delegates. These nominees, and their delegates, are free to vote however they choose.

    According to the press, over half of these nominees are from Ron Paul. Paul spent an extensive amount of time and money training his people how to caucus, in order to get selected. Paul's campaign "Nailed all of the delegates in the smaller counties, and several larger ones." They are "very happy" with their delegate count. With over half of the delegates, Paul should get better than half of the Iowa delegates.

    A Slightly more accurate delegate count:

    http://teapartycheer.com/ecal/2012-republican-delegate-count/

    Romney= 13

    Paul= 9

    Santorum = 6

    Santorum's growing stock is very encouraging and it was a relief for me to see him do well in Iowa as he was my first pick prior to that and his poll numbers were at the bottom. Is he the perfect conservative candidate? No, but I believe he is the most genuine conservative in the field.

    A recent post of mine on a friend's political blog.

    That IS the line that I have heard on every news agency I've listened to over the weekend, including Fox, NPR, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, and CSPAN, not to mention teh conservative talk radio programs that I occaisionally get to hear.

    The press and poles weren't giving him a chance but obviously many of us do have a mind of our own and see through those rhetorical ploys.
