Will his anti-Trump speech sink Trump? Will it really save the GOP's rear end?

I think not! He couldn't save us from four more years of Obama, so how does he think coming out of mothballs on Utah will matter? Inflated egos, and running for their lives, the GOP is scared. Might do better bringing Freddie Krueger back to reprise another Nightmare on Elm Street.

So let me understand Trump vs Hillary = Liberal Democrat vs Liberal Democrat. And if it's Trump vs Sanders we have liberal democrat vs socialist. Not much of a choice

No. His speech will probably help Trump. It will just remind undecided voters about the GOP's past failures to run a good, non-RINO, conservative candidate. Ironically, Trump isn't a conservative either, but that doesn't matter to his rubes.

The bufoonery continues. One day Paul Ryan comes out and gives a speech that sounds like he borrowed President Obama's speech writers. A couple of days later, the establishment releases the 2012 Mormon wonderboy who got his behind handed to him by Barack Obama.

They might as well face the music. The underbelly of the party has been exposed and it's as racist and racially prejudiced as folks have said it was for decades no matter how many denials of such would come from the "speak and keep a straight face" GOP PR machine.

And it's no wonder the OP is attracted to the non-David Dukes knowing DT.

Donald finally lets him proudly come out the closet and be the type of person he really is and he's latched right onto the coattails.

    They Created Trump 2016

"All the elected Republicans with heartburn over Donald Trump’s rise in the polls should really ponder their role in the creation of Trump 2016.

It’s not just New York Republicans who have greeted Trump with open arms. In his election bid in 2012, Mitt Romney gladly had Donald Trump take the stage with him for an endorsement. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) also accepted his endorsement and had a private meeting with him.

Numerous Republican groups have solicited Trump for money. Going back to 2010, Republicans were keen on paying a visit to Trump’s office in New York and cashing his checks. Trump has been the “big get” for Republican groups.

I have written a lot about what it means to be a Republican these days. I know what it means to be a conservative. But to be a Republican, it seems you just need a desire to acquire power. You can figure out what to do with it later while throwing out some pablum about smaller government.

Republicans were absolutely eager to take Trump’s money, use Trump’s name, and have him in photographs with them until he got the big idea of running as one and disrupting their primary process......

..... They compressed their primary schedule, they limited the number of debates, and they agreed to caps on the number of people on stage. None of those things are really objectionable. But it necessitated the candidates find Super PACs and mega-donors to fund their bids and drive up their name ID.

It should surprise none of us that one of those potential donors decided to run himself. And why not — the GOP has courted Donald Trump for years. If they really objected to Trump, they should not have taken his money. But they were happy to do that.

Now they will, from their perspective, pay the price..... But let’s not kid ourselves. The establishment’s wooing of Trump going back to 2010 advanced Donald Trump within the Republican Party.

If they didn’t want him and they didn’t want his money, they probably should have told him then, not now that he’s ahead in the polls. The GOP has taken money and sweat equity from millions of people and broken most of their campaign promises in return.

If I believed in karma, I’d think Trump was payback."

Romney Says He’s Not a Candidate — Don’t Believe Him

"...The scenario that’s been floated in recent days by GOP insiders I’ve spoken to is that Romney could enter the Republican primary race late in California and New York to deny Trump the delegates necessary to clinch the nomination. Then, at a brokered convention, Romney would emerge as the party’s choice on a second ballot. There’s no real hope that Romney would be able to beat Clintonit would essentially be a suicide mission — but losing in 2016, while being able to cast the Trump phenomenon as a fringe aberration, would be better for the party in the long run.

Romney's speech contained many hints that he could put this plan into action. He included the requisite praise of Establishment candidates. “The only serious policy proposals that deal with the broad range of national challenges we confront today come from Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and John Kasich. One of these men should be our nominee,” he said. But as each day goes by, with none of these candidates demonstrating an ability to stop Trump, the GOP seems to be grasping for an alternative. And the logical one is Romney himself....."

Trump just said "Mitt let us down in 2012. He should have won. He ran one of the worst campaigns in modern politics."

Well, Donald, if you get the nomination, or even if you don't and you run as an independent, you won't get 47% of the popular vote like Romney did.

A rube is an unsophisticated person. If someone votes for Clinton, or Sanders, or Cruz, or Rubio, or Kasich, they are not rubes. But Trump attracts rubes like a fat kid to ice cream.

...and Rubio attracts the dense who can't discern the damage that has been done by the neocons. 'Status quo' is fine for them.

You will still have the crossover Democrats who will vote in the Republican primaries in the states that are open in order to ensure Trump gets in it would be a win-win for the DEM's two liberal democrats, Trump and Hillary battling it and if that caused Hillary to lose the Nomination it would be a liberal Democrat (Trump) against a Socialist (Sanders). It will definitely be a lose for the USA. But God is in control and will put in place who He wants.

I held my nose and voted for Romney in an effort to dethrone [President Obama] the Petulant Child.

Perhaps we need to stop holding our noses and vote for Christ over politics?
