    4.2 MILLION DOLLARS!!!

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, aided by an extraordinary outpouring of Internet support Monday, hauled in more than $4.2 million in nearly 24 hours.

    <snip>

Paul’s total deposed Mitt Romney as the single-day fundraising record holder in the Republican presidential field. When it comes to sums amassed in one day, Paul now ranks only behind Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton, who raised nearly $6.2 million on June 30, and Barack Obama

Isn't life grand! For someone that has a bunch of straw men running around giving false results in the polls..... They sure did raise alot of money!

    Ron Paul for President!!

I'll vote for Ron Paul so long as he doesn't get the Republican nomination.

What possible difference does the party label make?

Kinda reminds me of Howard Dean's success at raising money.

And lack of it at being nominated? :)

The Paul supporters blew what the Dean campaign did totally out of the water.

Now now Ken... He only wants to try to connect Paul with Dean because he is afraid of someone real, honest, and concerned about this country getting an edge and being elected.

His man has been knocked down a peg or two... or that's right. As far as I am aware of, carpro hasn't sided with anyone.. he is still waiting in the wings and only wants to cry and complain about the happenings instead of picking a candiate and running with it.

Freedom is a loud, strong and determined stance!

    RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT!!

The Paul campaign has received about $300,000 more today.

The similarity still applies. The actual dollar amount doesn't matter.

Will the end result be the same? Probably.

Has nothing to do with the message of either man. Just their effectiveness at raising money early in the primary campaign.

KenH has said Paul won't be nominated. I wonder how long it will be before he folds his tent.

Dean was dead after New Hampshire. With all the primary only support he's drawing from liberals, maybe Paul will last longer.

Should I "support" someone I'm lukewarm about just to make you happy?

BTW Ron Paul falls in that "lukewarm" category with maybe 4 others , but I'm not fooled about where his support is coming from nor his chances.

Is it the positions that Ron Paul takes that bothers you, or is it that the dreaded "liberal" might support him?

His positions, foreign policy in particular, but I admire his consistency. Most of the liberal support will vanish in the general election, should he become the nominee. For that reason, I also believe he is unelectable.

I don't think there is any doubt that Ron Paul will in the race through at least Super Duper Tuesday on February 5.

Forgive me for being redundant, but while we're amassing money for men and women to change laws, remember that we have missionaries on the field - who are barely surviving - who are changing lives.

What does this have to do with Ron Paul's campaign contributions. If you are convinced that missionaries are doing a good work, support them as much as you desire.

Again, a very good point, Tom.

And if we don't get our fiscal house in order in these United States in the near future then American Christians are going to have a whole lot less money to send to support missionaries.

As I said (and I'll stop double-posting now) Americans need to get their houses in order and stop relying on the govt to do what grown adults should be doing for themselves.

Dagwood, my comment is not just directed at Mr. Paul, but on anyone who gives $$$ to a candidate thinking they do more good than the gospel. There are Republicans, Democrats, Liberterians, etc., who have more faith in the Government than they do in the Gospel; they have more faith in the power of the White House than the power of the church house (to use a southern expression). That's my point :)

(Bolding mine.) Anyone watch World News on ABC yesterday? This time last year, John Kerry was in fifth place in the democratic primary polling a scant 8% nationally. Paul has as much of a chance of being a nominee as anyone.
