I realize the fellow from "church chatter" was pushing the advertizing part, but I thought he asked for comments or thoughts on their program - I don't see that in his original post now however.

That is why I responded with some comments and he seemed to appreciate them.

To the point. I think this is a program that might be quite useful for some on the board. Is there any way a member could call attention to their program without breaking the "advertizing" rule?

    Thanks.

Umm... this ought to have been a PM, not an open thread...

Trotter is right as usual. Also a moderator will more than likely change the name of your thread as it is against BB policy to use a members name in the topic.

Sorry, but the last time I pm'ed a moderator it was never answered.

Sorry about the name in the title, have seen it a number of times before so didn't think it was a problem, especially since there was nothing said about it.

Just delete the thread since you don't seem to want to answer the Question.

    Sorry to have bothered you.

Hmm ... could they post the link in their profile? Lots of members post their church's URL in their profile, and their church sells things. Beats me!

Our church web site is built on not-for-profit space, which is not a problem because we don't sell anything. But would the profile thingee suffice in this case?

This was a service for cost, and I appreciate their not wanting advertizing, things would fill up quite quickly if they allowed it. [IMG] I took it that the man wanted feedback as he indicated, and he responded to feedback I posted, as well as by email after the thread was locked. He was quite open to some thoughts.

I think some churches could really benefit from their new approach to things and started this thread in the hope of making their service known. I am assuming even that has been considered advertizing since the question remains unanswered.

I'm not sure the man is still around, nor that a website in the profile would be allowed, rather like advertizing there also. :D

Not quite sure why three people have to tell you in public that you have erred, instead of deleting the offending post and contacting me privately, but that also is their choice and I respect their right to do as they see fit on the board.

Again, I would suggest just deleting the thread and being done with it.

And Again, I apologize for the offenses. [IMG]

No offense exscentric, I was simply passing along information about the BB policies. Take Trotter, Josephs, and my answers in the spirit intended. If I caused you offense I apologize.
