    Shortly after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin hammered home the last lines of her speech to the Republican National Convention Wednesday night, Carl Bernstein was on CNN lamenting that she had just renewed the “culture war” in America that Bernstein had hoped was over.

    Bernstein was wrong. Palin did not renew the “culture war.” She simply showed a joyful skill in fighting back--a skill that no Republican has shown on a national ticket since Ronald Reagan.

    Palin smacked down three elites last night: Washington’s political establishment, the media establishment, and their new messiah, Barack Obama...........

    I like the comment about 'fighting back.'

    For too long the 'culture war' has been fought from one side only while conservatives rolled over and played dead.

    That's the truth, all GW has done for 8 years is roll over and take it. I kept waiting for him to finally get enough and fight back but it never happened.

    The last fighter we had was Newt.
