Credit cards are something everyone should avoid, but they often come in handy when a big emergency comes and there is no money to take care of the expense.

So where do you stand when it comes to credit cards and "credit lines" on your mortgage?

Please take part in the poll, as it will give us a real clue as to the credit temperature of Baptist in general.

    Thanks,

    Pastor Paul :type:

I agree. Some people on this board have good salaries and do not understand things from our POV.

    I Agree With You....

....I know that ten years ago, my fixed retirement income was more than adequate. Today, it is less than adequate.

For example. Our home was brand new 17 years ago, and every year we had a/c people come and service our a/c. However, this year. It died on us, and we just don't have the three thousand dollars to fix it. So we used money from our CD to purchase two portable a/c's, and that will have to do us for the years to come.

We had to put the units on credit to get them, and now that our bank has moved the money over. We will pay off those charges at that time. Thank God I have a credit card. We were in the middle of triple digits, and my health condition mandates a/c to keep me breathing without problems.

There have also been a few dental problems that if it were not for a credit card, we'd both have infected teeth!

There are a lot of believers who are honest, hard-working folks, barely making ends meet! IT is not their fault, they are barely making a go of it. It is this economy.

The government can print money whenever they need to. We can't, and when they print money, our incomes become less significant, making it more difficult to pay bills, buy food, and keep the utilities running!

I guess my wife and I could go live in the car, and we'd actually have a wad of cash to spend on our every whim. However, that is not the American dream.

However, for way too many of us, the American dream has become the American nightmare!

Thanks for your candid, honest response!

    Pastor Paul

I think my answer should be "Only a mortgage on my home", but I'm not sure , because I've no idea what some of the poll options mean. "Credit online mortgage", for example. I do have a debit card, but when I use it, the money is taken from my bank account immediately. I have not heard of a debit card with deferred payment options, unless it's just a longer way of saying, "credit card" !

I do have one credit card, but I always pay the totall amount on the monthly statement.
