Now you're contradicting yourself. Didn't you just say before that there is male and female in the church, and that we're commanded to observe these gender roles?

You're saying the afore quoted Scripture eliminates gender roles in society, yet not in the church?

What great songs do the religious sexual bigots sing?
    Here might be one?

My hope is built on nothing less
    Than Jesus' blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
but wholly lean on my masculinity!

The salvation-related issue of masculine preferred is
easier to see in the Geneva Bible than the usual KJV:

Romans 10:9 (Geneva Bible, 1599 Version):
For if thou shalt confesse with thy mouth
the Lord Iesus, and shalt beleeue in thine heart,
that God raised him vp from the dead,
    thou shalt be saued:

(yes, that is 'up' there -- 'v' and 'u'
got switched in the late 1600s)

Some of us were never supporters of Margaret Thatcher and think it would be an act of love not to have inflicted her on the US.

When did the secular government become that of the church and therefore the relevance of Scripture?

Is one bigoted to insist that marriage be defined as a covenant between a man and a woman?

    Short answer: no.
Long answer: sexual relationships are a very different issue from the responsibilities and limitations of the sexes as a gender issue. Being a woman, I have to say, even I have doubts about a woman president, especially the one who happens to be running right now. There is no Biblical basis for denying a woman the right to be President, though. Secular government is separate from religious government. Remember the Bible says that no one will hold power unless the Lord has given them that power. So, I figure if a woman gets elected, God has chosen to give her that power. I just pray that He will not subject us to four years under Hillary Clinton! :praying:

Tragicallly, it might be eight instead of just four. :(

    Yes, that is bigoted.
    Here is an unbigoted insistance:

Marriage is defined as a covenant
between a woman and a man.

So, God was bigoted when He said, "male and female created He them"?

No they aren't. We only have the Scriptures to tell us that men can't marry men, and women can't marry women. (Does this answer your question, TC?)

We only have the Scriptures to tell us what marriage actually is, and the proper interactions between men and women sexually and socially.

A woman being President and the Bible have nothing to do with each other. In fact, this thread belongs in politics. There are plenty of good women will the skills to be President, just not the one running. Gender has nothing to do with it.

Oh, and by the way, the reason there is a good possibility of Hillary being elected, can be laid right in the lap of those who blindly followed pseudo-conservative George Bush as he lead the country into record deficits and unprotected borders, plus many other liberal causes.

That is why so many Republicans are angry and will stay home next year, especially with pro abortionist Rudy heading the ticket. If you want a Bible verse to ponder then ponder we reap what we sow.

Edwards, are you an advocate of same-sex marriage, since there is neither male nor female?

I believe a person and their significant other
who marry should share musical insturments.
My favorite musical insturment is a saxaphone.

Thus I believe in same Sax marriage :wavey:

Make "sax" singular-- should the couple share the same sack?
