Looks like part of the One World Gov't doesn't it. This kind of stuff is what really scares me, a lot. When regimes start using international law to trump our Constitution we are in trouble. Our guns now and then they will come for our bibles. Can you imagine being charged with a hate crime for owning a bible? Could it happen?

When I was growing up and could not spell a word or did not know the meaning of a word I was pointed to the dictionary. Honestly I never liked it as I just could not understand why my lazy attitude could not rely on the welfare of another's work but I learned to use the dictionary rather then remain uninformed while waiting on others to carry me and it has been a benefit. Let me help you the same way in this situation. Google it. :love2:

No, I want you to provide a link because if you do not you are trolling. From the BB rules:

    5. No trolling. Trolling consists of provoking large volumes of responses by posting absurdities

You cannot post that the U.N. is going to usurp U.S. law and then provide no proof of your assertion. That is trolling. You did the same thing in the thread about 53,000 Dead Voters in Florida. You asserted that there were people using the SSN# and driver's licenses of dead people to register using their ID's and then voting. When I asked you to provide proof, your lame response, "Google it."

Unless you can show proof this is posting an absurdity. So please post links proving your assertions or you will be reported.

Hilarious, just hilarious. I posted a link to an article. You may want to write the person who wrote the article and tell him of your need or you can Google it. I am not responsible for your wants. :wavey:

You realize that you are simply re-posting hoax emails that have been circulating for years. I'm not going to email the author of the article when I've got you right here. You need to take personal responsibility for your actions. I suggest you start by posting links to proof of your assertions.

    1. What U.N. treaty would usurp the 2nd amendment (and how would it do so)?

    2. Give me an article proving that dead people's ID's are being used to register and vote in Florida.

    Google it.

I did. Found it, too. Wasn't all that hard.

Willfully ignorant or just lazy? Which are you?

I don't think he was either. I think he was trying to make a point about a past behavior. The opening post link pointed to an opinion piece, rather than straight to the facts of the matter.

However, in this case, I have to admit it was easy to take the information from the opinion piece and do a search to verify that such a treaty and such legislation exist.

Don't know about you, but I don't put much stock in opinion pieces. Opinions are like armpits; everyone's got at least two, and some smell worse than others. My personal preference is to look up the facts of the matter and posts links to the actual story, rather than someone's opinion of it.

Making a point about past behavior is a part of it. The other part is that I want to know if FAL actually looked up the U.N. treaty. Also, it would be interesting to know what FAL was using for a source. Could be something legit, could be a conspiracy site.

It was easy--so why didn't FAL post his source? Yes, I looked it up. But it's one thing to look it up and it's another thing to read it and also know some background information. For example, the decision by the Obama admin to enter negotiations occurred in October 2009, over 2 1/2 years ago. Furthermore, the treaty covers international sales of conventional weaponry and small arms. It would not affect gun ownership or sales within U.S. borders. Also, legal sales of sporting and hunting guns would be exempt in the U.N. treaty.

Even more, any U.N. treaty would have to be approved by 2/3 vote of the Senate. Finally, even if it were approved it would be subject to a legal challenge because there is Supreme Court precedent that the U.S. Constitution usurps any treaty with a foreign country (Reid vs. Covert, 1957)

So you see, FAL's post is all bluster and has no basis in reality. Yet he posts this crap unchallenged, and when challenged gives the equivalent of a playground taunt, "Nah, nah, nah..."

Exactly. But that's too much to ask from FAL.

We went out earlier this week and bought a 38 special. The background check was instant. It used to take 5 days.
