One of the root problems in the world today is the pervasive sense of entitlement. Here is my theory on how it develops. 1. Generation 1 (early America) people earn everything they get. 2. After some prosperity, Generation 2 gets some things from their parents they didn't earn. As adults, Generation 2 EXPECTS to get some things they didn't earn. 3. More prosperity, then Generation 3 gets more things from their parents they didn't earn. As adults, Generation 3 EXPECTS to get more things they didn't earn. 4. As prosperity levels off, Generation 4 gets a lot of things from their parents they didn't earn. As adults, Generation 4 EXPECTS to get a lot of things they didn't earn. 5. As prosperity begins to wane, Generation 5 gets everything from their parents they want without earning it. As adults, Generation 5 EXPECTS to get everything for nothing. 6. The system begins to break down and dictators take over as everyone demands everything for nothing. 7. The people fly from one dictator/savior to another, looking for salvation, but never finding it. 8. Where does it end and what is the solution?
