You are my sister in Christ but I'll have to say that I'm glad I don't have to go to church with you. It sure wouldn't be any fun.

I hate to say this, AiC, but MK only 'gently' reminds you once.

After that, it's the rolling pin.

Nope, you have to read dcorbit's last post.

We reference the same post. Perhaps it is just a few that don't find the worship service to be amusing.

Brother I see that dcorbit's post will fit nicely into having fun and games, connected with our faith.

As with many subjects discussed here, perhaps semantics is present. Wit can be shown in a sermon; surely we should leave our jesting for another time.

Just an update to our Community Easter Egg Hunt...

We were able to share the real meaning of Easter - the resurrection of Jesus - with about 250 kids and parents. Will we do it again next year, ABSOLUTELY!

    Truth hurts

I know truth hurts. This does not come from a cruel, or misinformed heart, and not intended to answer any particular person. I say a little prayer, especially on posts such as this, asking truth, and His love for us at any age is available, can be seen when the intellect will allow.

Yes, I too as a child enjoyed finding those eggs, and then breaking open that dead egg, and eating it. As I grew I saw what I was told of the Egg held up to its billing, but in a flagrant manner. Easter in the Bible speaks to death, which is the Passover. But what is wrong about the egg analogies put forth to show our knowledge of death and resurrection? We choose to use something that has never been born, break it open, and eat it. We can't even get the Passover (Easter) correct. Something must be alive to die. Then there is that little side issue we don't like to mention. But that’s OK; the little ones would not understand what we are talking about, so we will just skip the Blood. It has no importance of what we want to teach our kids.

It is Birth, Death, and then the Resurrection. We nurse our children with the unborn in order to show the way to everlasting life. Shouldn't the egg be moved to Christmas, and let it hatch, let it grow until Passover, and then let the blood flow. This is truth of life, and death, but really our young children are just not old enough to understand. We are told to spread the WORD of Jesus Christ, so they can understand.

Oh, no, we have lots of fun! And my grandkids colored eggs and hunted them....but not at church.

I grew up on a ranch that had over 10,000 chickens...and most people here don't realize that an egg has 4-5 distinct sections....the outer shell, the inner membrane, the white, the yolk, and if fertile, the embryo - so the 3 parts demo doesn't work!

Bizarre. Easter eggs are OK only if they are fertilized and bloody or contain a dead embryonic chick for our toddlers to see and eat?

and we had 180 people in adult church and about 45 in junior church and not one egg hunt!!! That's about twice as many kids and about 1/3 again as many adults as usual....lots of visitors, and we shared the TRUE meaning of Resurrection Sunday with all of them with no frills attached!!

3 went forward during the invitation.....Praise the Lord!

So refreshing. Just the WORD of GOD, which will not return to Him Void In Heaven. It is from heaven today that we get our marching orders. Isaiah 55:11, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Your post is proof of this, but who will believe it?? Some here do.

If a Church is going to hunt anything, it ought to be turkey, deer, or small game. Then cooked up and served at the next pot luck. :type:

Half the time I have to hunt for members through the week that want to play hide and seek on Sunday morning!
