What's your take on this topic? My personal opionion: What he did is horrible and is deserving of death, but why make him a saint within his religion? Why not send him to prison for LIFE and see how long his life lasts there?

I don't care about his religion or his beliefs. Death.

I don't care about his religion or beliefs...ditto on that. But, I would hate to see "his people" think that he is a martyr. To me, this is a double-edged sword. [IMG]

We put him to death, and face angry muslims.

We send him to jail, he gets killed, and we face angry muslims.

We let him go, some redneck takes the law into his own hands, we face angry muslims.

I say make him commerce secretary.

    He deserves to die...

However a life sentence with no parole would probably work best under the circumstances. [IMG]

He's going to die. Punish him first my making him spend the rest of his ignominious life in jail. Take away the thing he wanted most - to die a martyr.

Of course, he didn't actually do anything - it's what he wanted to do, conspired to do and would have done had the other conspirators not shut him out as mentally unstable (kind of ironic, that).

A Quaker prison would be best. Hard labor and a Bible.

Life without parole makes the most sense, I agree.

Of course, I'm against the DP in any case, but the fact that he didn't actually do anything, and is apparently mentally ill as well...

</font>[/QUOTE]What we might consider mentally ill just from his way of thinking. But, is he truly mentally ill? If he's one of the masterminds behind this, then I doubt he's mentally ill...perhaps a bit deranged.
My opinion is that he should be put in jail for life...no chance of parole. The ONLY reason I think this is that I am almost certain he wouldn't last long in jail. The inmates would take care of him and he woudln't die a martyr's death.....just a prison death by whatever. Just my opinion though.... [IMG]

I would love to see him die. He has declared himself our enemy.

The only problem is the cost and time involved carrying out the death sentence. If we could hang him or behead him next week that would be great and we could reuse the rope on the next guy. But, the way it works today if he is sentenced to death we will have 10 years of appeals and legal battles, 10 years of death row confinement, 10 years of television specials and book deals, and then maybe he will get the lethal injection after so much time has passed that the punishment and the crime are completely separated.

With that in mind, life without parole will be acceptable to me. As far as what the other prisoners will do to him, that should not be a consideration. We do not need inmates to commit further crimes and then call it justice. If he is sentenced to life in prison he should be protected for life within the prison system.

I say let him go...but confine him to work detail at a pork processing plant for 10 years, and then the next 10 have him work at a mill that sews American flags. After that, he can serve barbecue to the Hawaiian Tropic Bikini girls, followed up by being a translater of the "700 club" broadcasts into Arabic.

If he lives through that, he should be reformed. If not, wrap him in bacon and fry him in the chair.

Or they can just take him home and let him go.

    From 30,000ft without a parachute.
