    Yes.

The good thing is that they are not false accusations.

Some heathen thoughts on the matter. Strange how they can see it but the pastors posting here can't.
    And the fan favorite.

There's a time to put people on ignore and a time not to. This is a good time not to.

Sopranette, I've got to be honest with you, I haven't seen them say anything out of line to you.

You, on the other hand, seem to have come here with your mind made up. In a sense, all of us do that because we all have opinions and biases. There's nothing wrong with that, but if you're going to be on a message board where different opinions are being thrown around, you really need to learn to accept that others will disagree with you and that not everyone who disagrees with you is wrong.

By the way, you never did offer any evidence about your claims about Reggae.

Yeah, nothing like throwing a little James Taylor on the hi-fi to make you want to go out and have wild sex and beat people up.

Is there some rock music that promotes aggression? Of course.

But what about the rock music that does the opposite? What about the rock music that causes you to relax?

As far as sexuality goes, I understand that everybody is different, but anytime Mrs. MikeMcK and I get amorous, we prefer Nat King Cole.

Oh but aren't we thankful you are here to point all this out to us. :BangHead:

I just want to make sure I am getting this right.

You are comparing the likes of Casting Crowns, who profess faith in the Lord Jesus and serve Him as has been referenced many many times on this board to such groups as KISS?

Yet you say there are no false accusations? :BangHead:

So why introduce people to it through so-called Christian channels?

Everyone who has a drink doesn't beat their wife neither, but every alcoholic wife-beater starts with a little so-called innocent drink. Should the pastor also introduce alcohol to the congregation?

If there actually is such a thing as relaxing rock music, being the gateway to furtherance, is it any less evil?

Yes, that's why he is listed with the heathen.

Considering your sarcanol filled tongue on the matter I can only assume that you are not thankful at all.

Yes, in fact Casting Crowns causes more trouble. 2 Cor 11:13-15.

    Yes.

BGTF, you have stated that some music doesn't have a beat, which means that you are completely uneducated about music. On what basis, then, do you have for thinking that you have the knowledge to teach anybody anything about music? You have provided virtually nothing of value to the music debate. Please go get some basic music instruction first, then you'll be equipped to debate the topic.

    Short answer, yes.

You will find some good articles on this topic by Dr. Peter Masters, pastor of The Metropolitan Tabernacle (C.H. Spurgeon's church).

    Is agression bad?

What pastor is introducing music that causes people to beat their wives?

"Any less evil" implies that it was evil to begin with. It is not.

So, who says that their opinion is any more valid than the pastors? For that matter, you have two former professional musicians posting here. Why are our opinions not valid?

I will not let this go by...
YOu are calling your brothers and sisters in Christ , my brothers and sisters in Christ, troublemakers, and promoters of fornication....

You have at this point fallen into sin.. and let it be known that you have been told, and I am calling on you now to repent. :tear:

    God will forgive you.

You have shown the sin in your heart. And you need to be cleansed from that sin...

Casting Crowns are fine Christians, and just because you don't like their music, doesn't mean that you can call them promoters of fornication...
    That crossed the line...

    Mark Hall stands for truth....
Here.. Here is a song that you should read the lyric too... you might even agree with the relevance part....

    CASTING CROWNS LYRICS

    "What This World Needs"

What this world needs is not another one hit wonder with an axe to grind
Another two bit politician peddling lies
    Another three ring circus society
What this world needs is not another sign waving super saint that's better than you
Another ear pleasing candy man afraid of the truth
Another prophet in an Armani suit

What this world needs is a Savior who will rescue
    A Spirit who will lead
A Father who will love them in their time of need
    A Savior who will rescue
    A Spirit who will lead
    A Father who will love
    That's what this world needs

What this world needs is for us to care more about the inside than the outside
Have we become so blind that we can't see
God's gotta change her heart before He changes her shirt
What this world needs is for us to stop hiding behind our relevance
Blending in so well that people can't see the difference
And it's the difference that sets the world free

Jesus is our Savior, that's what this world needs
Father's arms around you, that's what this world needs
    That's what this world needs

Yep, It sure sounds like they are promoting fornication!!!
    Or what about this one...
Maybe you should take this to heart.....

    Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
    Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
    For my ever wandering heart.

    Bridge:
Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

    Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading,
    Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
    A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
    I am yours.
    I am yours.

    Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
    And watch me rise again.
    Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
    Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
    A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
    I am yours.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
    Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
    A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
    I am yours.
    I am yours.

    I am yours.

    Whom shall I fear?
    Whom shall I fear?
    'Cause I am yours.
    I am yours.

I tell you who I am ... a low down, rotten dirty sinner... just like you.
And I am in need of repentance also....
So let's go off and pray.

For me, the beat is not the issue, it is the words.

You should attend a black worship service. Everything they sing has a beat.

So our friend ByGraceThroughFaith has accused Casting Crowns of promoting fornication.

You, sir, are out of line, and should be absolutely ashamed of yourself.

One of my students was led to Christ by Mark Hall, the lead singer.

IMO, you are committing a grevious sin.

The Bible has a word for the sin of calling a work of God a work of Satan.

It starts with a "B" and ends with "lasphemy."

    Look it up.

Oh, BTW...comparing Christian music to domestic abuse is a slap in the face to those women who have been battered. Why not offer an apology, if your dignity allows it?

Your posts rank among the absolutely most ridiculous I've read on the BB in some time.

Even other folks who are quite against any form of modern Christian music don't stoop to your accusations.

    Shame on you.

One doesn't want to be on the wrong side of Prov 17:15, so here I stand.

Casting Crowns perfectly fits the mold of 2 Cor 11:13-15.

What You are forgetting is that the most devious counterfeit is the one with the least recognizable differences. Gene Simmons, is an obvious open enemy. Casting Crowns being a subtle enemy from within, brings the Trojan horse to mind.

Do you know which members of the band are death metal fans, do you not think that might just affect their ministry? Do you not think that is a sign of their spirituality, or lack thereof?

Since you're putting trash out, document it, or consider yourself reported for slander right now.

This is simply urban myth. Can you verify it through reliable sources?
