A friend of mine has been invited by her mother to fly down South for a visit. The Mom will pay for the flight - but the Mom's income includes retirement and income from being a psychic.

Should the plane ticket be accepted, based on where it would come from.

ps - The possibility of a Christian conversion is very small - she was brought up Methodist

I voted yes, it's a chance to witness. If the mother really wants to do this for her child, I don't see the problem. I mean, would this person refuse a Christmas gift from his mother because he disapproves of her occupation?

That's the first problem. There are already enough Yankees in the South. Give the native-born southerners a break.

Mom isn't asking your friend to become a psychic. She is a mother inviting her daughter to visit and is willing to pay for the trip.

Based on the information you've provided, the ticket is coming from a mother who wants to see her daughter. I think there are sufficient moral dilemmas out there to fret over. This isn't one of them.

God is still bigger than the UMC.

What is offensive about being raised as a Methodist?

The point I was trying to make is that she in spite of being raised a Methodist, she turned to being a psychic.

    Options -
    1. Go visit her mother. Be thankful that he mom is still alive and she can spend time with her. If mom is not a Christian, then it is another opportunity to share the Gospel.
    2. Stay at home & feel holier than everyone else. And insult her mother.

If she wants to feel better about this, she can assume that she is traveling on her mom's retirement income, not her psychic income.

I won't even get into the second topic...
