What are the legitimate functions of government?
Its main function is to ensure it doesn't encroach on our freedoms. Next is making sure no one else encroaches on your freedom.
That reality died sometime ago.
What are you not allowed to do that you want to do?
Have a constitutional republic.
not be forced to buy a product
use medical marijuana
enjoy the 2nd Amendment
"Freedom" always seems to boil down to not paying taxes and smoking pot.
Because those are the most readily available issues. I don't mind taxes. I mind being over-taxed and I really mind tax dollars being spent on unConstitutional things.
Here's a good start:
Insure domestic tranquility
Provide for the common defence
Promote the general welfare
Secure the blessings of liberty
How has justice been established when only the common people are compelled to obey the law?
How has domestic tranquility been insured when the two major parties and the mass corporate media only seek to keep us divided?
How has the common defense been promoted when we are training, funding and arming the enemies of the United States? Yes I'm speaking of the radical Islamists in Eygpt, Libya and Syria.
How has the blessings of liberty been secured when little old ladies in wheelchairs are groped and humiliated when trying to board an airplane?
Man's government or a Christians perspective of what man's government should be?
I've learned to trust Christian's perspectives even less than man's government in my years here. They both want the same thing . . . to control others.
