Get them while you can. The Second Amendment is our best defense against those who would destroy the Republic.

Well, maybe, but most of these people are arming because they fear tyranny from this president and this congress in particular. Not because of skin color. Playing the race card is a nice attempt to shut down discussion, but it won't work here.

The 2nd Amendment is to guard against tyranny. The protection of the 2nd Amendment is celebrated by all Americans who love freedom, regardless of political stripe.

BTW, did you even bother to watch the video? Doesn't sound like it from your comment.

The President of the United States is welcome at my house regardless of his skin color-----living in rural Alabama--I'd even let him shoot my rifles off of my front porch if he wants to---I'm not too fond of handguns, though----a long time ago I was out shooting rifles with some church buddies and without me seeing him--this one friend goes to his car---retrieves his .44magnum and returns to where we all were--gets right up next to me and fires the stupid thing right up next to my ear---I wasn't wearin' ear protection---it took three days for the hearing to come back in that left ear!!!!:BangHead:

Thats the reason I'm not fond of shooting handguns to this day

Me liking the president has nothing to do with what skin color he has

To take away their guns would mean amending the constitution. Something that has only been done 27 times in over 200 years and not something that will happen very fast or without plenty of warning. What is happening is the right is responding to their own scare tactics and fear mongering. It really shows their mentality 1. when they say outrageous things like this and 2. when they react to this outrageous stuff.

Secret service would sure earn their pay that day...

Not you specifically, but I am sure some won't be as welcoming and would feel he was at the wrong end of the gun...

Yes. Tell that to the victims of Ruby Ridge. Or those kids burned alive in the school bus under Janet Reno. :tear:

You might try reading up on posse comitatus and the insurrection act and current selected executive orders that have been in effect for years.

FWIW, the right aren't the only ones who is buying guns. People are buying them for their own safety because they don't believe the police will be able to protect them or their property in case of a national disaster, i.e., Katrina, another terrorist attack, etc.

If you watch the video, it is informational.

You rekon they'd like to shoot skeet??? I can set the thrower up in my front yard---I'll let them shoot skeet in exchange for them letting me shoot their Uzi's they've got tucked away under those trench coats they wear!!!

Anyone who wouldn't welcome the president into their home---well--they'd just as soon not welcome me----its not the President I dislike---its the policies he's inking into law---as for the President---personally---he can eat at my table with me----he can watch LSU football in my living room with me--he can attend my church and I can lift him in prayer

Your charity is commendable blackbird but I could never invite a person who would deny medical treatment to babies born alive during an abortion into my house.

It's a distinct possibility that Obama will take away our guns by driving up the prices of ammo until people can't afford it. It's also a possibility that too many restrictions (license, fees, etc.) will be placed on gun ownership until the average person won't be able to access firearms. Obama doesn't exactly have to amend the constitution if he can go through a back door. Gun owners who are aware of this are stocking up for the future.

How much of this can Obama do without the cooperation of Congress?

Are you saying that he doesn't have Congress' cooperation or theirs, his? If so, what planet have you been on sense November? Pluto? Because your question is way out there.

It would take 60 votes to get this through the Senate. Are you saying there are 60 Senators who would support such legislation? If so, why single out Obama and not the 60 Senators? Same with the house.

Did I not indicate that they have his cooperation as well as he has theirs? Where then is the "singling out" of Obama? There is no doubt that it would be a tough sell but not impossible. If the populace does not stay informed on this issue they will push it. :type:
