Someone Explain this to me

    In the presidents economic stimulus plan there is some 300 million dollars to go to STD education.

    Now how can the study of sexually transmitted diseases stimulate the economy? How does this create jobs? Well I mean non-street walking jobs.

    It doesn't. There is no stimulus package. It is a liberal spending package which is being presented as a stimulus package. It is a lie and everyone knows it. And there is bi-partisan support against this false stimulus package.

    The congress should do a real stimulus package of an across the board (permanent) income tax cut of 25%, reduce capital gains to 10% and reduce corporate tax by 25% also. These steps could be immediate and we would begin to see results by the next quarter. Forget the additional spending.

    There is another thread about this. Gina pointed out that a much smaller amount was actually budgeted for std's, that there are other areas where the money would be spent.

    I agree it's a stretch to say this would stimulate the economy, but we do need to be informed about the "whole" truth of the bill.

    Only way to help the working class is to put an import duty on all manufactured consumer goods. Bring the jobs home!
