    Dave Hunt is as unreliable as Jack Chick. He has a habit of misrespresenting those that disagree with him be they, Charismatic, Roman Catholic or Calvinist. He has been refuted over and over and over and over and over and over again...

    Hi Kiffen;
    Glad you like Dave Hunt so much. He isn't perfect but then neither was Spurgeon.
    The same goes for Spurgeon. When I read my Bible I don't need some guy telling me what the Holy Spirit just said to my Heart isn't so.
    Spurgeon was mostlikely a true Christian but that doesn't give him any special status. Most of all I just can't trust my soul to a dead man.
    May Christ Shine His Light On us all;
    Mike [IMG]

    Hi Mike,

    No one on here is giving Spurgeon or anyone else special sainthood. God has however gifted many people such as Spurgeon and others in Church history. To not glean from their writings and teachings is unwise.

    Dave Hunt is not a good person to rely on regardless of what you believe in. He distorted Roman Catholicism in a previous book and he seems to have a habit of distorting others beliefs.

    MOST LIKELY? Mike this man led thousands upon thousands of people to Christ in his lifetime. Taking into account the later publishing of his sermons there will likely be millions in heaven because of him! We do not worship this man- but we may emulate his desire to follow Christ and his dedication to good doctrine. Your spite for such men of God proves to all of us that you are not serious about your calling and seek only your own way.

    It is amazing to me that ILUV would even question Spurgeons salvation. Even Arminians recognize this.
