n the Wall Street Journal, Kurtz writes that documents in the CAC archives make it clear that William Ayers and Barack Obama were partners in the CAC.
In early 1995, Mr. Obama was appointed the first chairman of the board, which handled fiscal matters. Mr. Ayers co-chaired the foundation's other key body, the ‘Collaborative,’ which shaped education policy... The Daley archives show that Mr. Obama and Mr. Ayers worked as a team to advance the CAC agenda...
The CAC's agenda flowed from Mr. Ayers's educational philosophy, which called for infusing students and their parents with a radical political commitment, and which downplayed achievement tests in favor of activism. In the mid-1960s, Mr. Ayers taught at a radical alternative school, and served as a community organizer in Cleveland's ghetto. In works like ‘City Kids, City Teachers’ and ‘Teaching the Personal and the Political,’ Mr. Ayers wrote that teachers should be community organizers dedicated to provoking resistance to American racism and oppression. ..
The Daley documents show that Mr. Ayers sat as an ex-officio member of the board Mr. Obama chaired through CAC's first year. He also served on the board's governance committee with Mr. Obama, and worked with him to craft CAC bylaws. Mr. Ayers made presentations to board meetings chaired by Mr. Obama. Mr. Ayers spoke for the Collaborative before the board. Likewise, Mr. Obama periodically spoke for the board at meetings of the Collaborative.
Kurtz has also been trying to discover just who appointed Obama to the CAC board.
One unsettled question is how Mr. Obama, a former community organizer fresh out of law school, could vault to the top of a new foundation? In response to my questions, the Obama campaign issued a statement saying that Mr. Ayers had nothing to do with Obama's ‘recruitment’ to the board. The statement says Deborah Leff and Patricia Albjerg Graham (presidents of other foundations) recruited him. Yet the archives show that, along with Ms. Leff and Ms. Graham, Mr. Ayers was one of a working group of five who assembled the initial board in 1994. Mr. Ayers founded CAC and was its guiding spirit. No one would have been appointed the CAC chairman without his approval.
Here, Kurtz adds that Obama has sought to obscure the role Ayers played in choosing Obama to lead the CAC -- and also details how the CAC tried to obstruct Kurtz’s inquiries by blocking his access to the records. And here Camp Obama responds to these claims, along with Kurtz’s demolition of that response.
Nor is the relationship with Ayers the only radical question-mark over Obama’s associations. Indeed, Obama appears to be the front-man for a vast network of the most subversive radicals in the USA – an alphabet soup from the FBI menu, a veritable Rolodex of the American counter-culture. WorldNetDaily reveals:
The official campaign website of Sen. Barack Obama has completely scrubbed a series of user-generated blog postings on the candidate's site by a former top communist activist who is an associate of former Weathermen terrorist leader William Ayers. The move has raised questions regarding Obama's relationship with the deleted blogger, Mike Klonsky, who runs an education organization that was founded by Ayers and that received a substantial grant from a group directed by Obama.
Small wonder Camp Obama is sensitive to the association. Klonsky, a professor of education and leader of the New Communist movement, was national secretary of the radical group Students for a Democratic Society. In 1969, he was one of five SDS members arrested at the organization’s Chicago national headquarters for assaulting a police officer, interfering with a firefighter, and inciting mob action. As Global Labor and Politics has reported, Klonsky went on to form
a pro-Chinese sect called the October League that later became the Beijing-recognized Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist). As chairman of the party, Klonsky travelled to Beijing itself in 1977 and, literally, toasted the Chinese Stalinist leadership who, in turn, ‘hailed the formation of the CP(ML) as “reflecting the aspirations of the proletariat and working people,” effectively recognizing the group as the all-but-official US Maoist party.’ (Elbaum, Revolution in the Air, 228).
In 1991, Klonsky co-founded the Small Schools Workshop in Chicago – and his co-founder was one William Ayers.
AsTrevor Loudon continues to document, Klonsky and his Weather Underground friends Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn are part of a far more extensive -- and organised – network of Subversives for Obama. In his latest post, Loudon concludes:
Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn are involved in an organisation uniting three Marxist parties, a host of ‘60s radicals and terrorists and a new generation of militant activists. That organisation has spawned a spin-off organisation specifically designed to put Barack Obama in the White House and to bring about massive social change across the US.....

So much great stuff in that piece, I couldn't put it all in. Definitely worth a look. Melanie Phillips destroys the left.

That seems to be a concession on your part that subversives in deed support Obama.

    And you're o.k. with it?

    That doesn't give you pause?

I don't take his response as serious as you. I found it fuuuny...!

I am sure there are some voters McCain wouldn't be proud of either but he will take them just the same. How about the guy that used the N word explaining why he wouldn't vote for Obama? I'm sure they won't put him on the poster but they will take his vote.

I don't know why you didn't take his response as serious. His answer to my question seemed to reaffirm that he agrees that subversives do support Obama.

You may be right that there may be some racists that would vote for McCain because Obama is black.

The difference being that racists are not necessarily out to undermine our government.

Subversives on the other hand are out to harm, undermine, or subvert our government - hence their name - subversives.

So you are also o.k. with the idea that a subset of voters whose goal it is to undermine the government supports Obama?

And it does not give you pause either?

What gives me pause is otherwise good people soiling their reputations by continuing to attempt to smear Senator Obama with this "subversive" nonsense.

No, I said both candidates have voters they wouldn't be proud of.

Look, they put their name on the ballet and make speeches to the nation for support. They can't control who votes for whom.

Simply put, we simply cannot afford four more years of the same, which is exactly what we will get with McCain. Since he is going to win in November, we will all get to see for ourselves.

Though I am not a big Obama fan, I could never vote for someone like McCain. This past week is proof of that.....

Regards LE, hope all is well,

    Obama's 'Weatherman' Connection
    http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/2008/02/obamas_weatherman_connection.html

There has been a sudden spate of blog items and newspaper articles, mainly in the British press, linking Barack Obama to a former member of the radical Weather Underground Organization that claimed responsibility for a dozen bombings between 1970 and 1974. The former Weatherman, William Ayers, now holds the position of distinguished professor of education at the University of Illinois-Chicago. Although never convicted of any crime, he told the New York Times in September 2001, "I don't regret setting bombs...I feel we didn't do enough."

Both Obama and Ayers were members of the board of an anti-poverty group, the Woods Fund of Chicago, between 1999 and 2002. In addition, Ayers contributed $200 to Obama's re-election fund to the Illinois State Senate in April 2001, as reported here. They lived within a few blocks of each other in the trendy Hyde Park section of Chicago, and moved in the same liberal-progressive circles.
Is there anything here that raises questions about Obama's judgment or is this just another example of guilt by association?

    The Facts

The first article in the mainstream press linking Obama to Ayers appeared in the London Daily Mail on February 2. It was written by Peter Hitchens, the right-wing brother of the left-wing firebrand turned Iraq war supporter, Christopher Hitchens. Hitchens cited the Ayers connection to bolster his argument that Obama is "far more radical than he would like us to know."

The Hitchens piece was followed by a Bloomberg article last week pointing to the Ayers connection as support for Hillary Clinton's contention that Obama might not be able to withstand the "Republican attack machine." Larry Johnson, a former counterterrorism official at the CIA and the State Department, predicted that the Republicans would seize on the Ayers case, and other Chicago relationships, to "bludgeon Obama's presidential aspirations into the dust."

The London Sunday Times joined the chorus this weekend by reporting that Republicans were "out to crush Barack by painting him as a leftwinger with dubious support".

The only hard facts that have come out so far are the $200 contribution by Ayers to the Obama re-election fund, and their joint membership of the eight-person Woods Fund Board. Ayers did not respond to e-mails and telephone calls requesting clarification of the relationship. Obama spokesman Bill Burton noted in a statement that Ayers was a professor of education at the University of Illinois and a former aide to Mayor Richard M. Daley, and continued:

Senator Obama strongly condemns the violent actions of the Weathermen group, as he does all acts of violence. But he was an eight-year-old child when Ayers and the Weathermen were active, and any attempt to connect Obama with events of almost forty years ago is ridiculous.

But the Obama-Ayers link is a tenuous one.

Whatever his past, Ayers is now a respected member of the Chicago intelligentsia, and still a member of the Woods Fund Board. The president of the Woods Fund, Deborah Harrington, said he had been selected for the board because of his solid academic credentials and "passion for social justice."
"This whole connection is a stretch," Harrington told me. "Barack was very well known in Chicago, and a highly respected legislator. It would be difficult to find people round here who never volunteered or contributed money to one of his campaigns."

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bottom line? The "swift boat crowd of 2008." Look where they got us. Into deep trouble "FAST."

Too bad, because it is true. Ayers should be on the same federal prison block that Jane Fonda should still be in. He was in fact, and is in sympathies a terrorist and a murderer, and Barak and he are close.

Swiftboating ? Was Obama in Vietnam ?

And why is Ayers the only one who's ties to the zero have been well established that you guys are attempting to disprove, however lamely ?

The O/P is not from WND, and has yet to be addressed.

And it will not be. They want Obama in office no matter what his connections are so they can continue their communist progression and their holocaust on unborn children.

Yes, this time the electorate is wise to this republican attempt at swift-boating. You are correct, this time it won't work.

This isn't about candidates controlling who votes for them.

It is about asking yourself what is it that other voters - in this case subversives- see in a candidate that would cause they to choose to vote for him.

And then asking yourself if you should be supporting the same thing.

So why do subversives wish to see Obama elected?

The problem is that Ayers is not repentant. He says that he regrets not doing more (terrorism).

Obama was not eight when he made the decision to hook up with Ayers. He was a thirty-something adult.

And I am sick of the lame "I don't condone such and such behavior" word-speak answers while looking away from exactly that.

Like the ones we get from the democrats on abortion... legal, safe and rare... while fighting tooth and nail to insure that every possible abortion is performed under every possible situation.

    Where's the icon for vomitting?
