How does your church teach sunday school? Is it discussion based or a mini sermon? The one major advantage of my church is their SS format which is discussion based. The church is Arminian and IFB but they do have it right in this area.

However one problem with open discussion is offending people of which I am sure I have. I often speak with BOLDNESS, CONVICTION, AND CONFIDENCE, and am not afraid nor intimidated by others. I know there are some KJVO there of which I sense conflict. In prayer time and open discussion I will ask prayer for my street evangelism ministry of which I always seek the ELECT and for God to open their eyes, and I often speak of total depravity, but the KJVO do not agree with my Calvinism.

So is your sunday school this way and are there lots of quarrels and debates?

My ss teacher reads for a lifeway book and occasionally we have discussions. My teacher doesn't recognize reformed theology when he sees it, nor does the majority of the class.

I don't know about the rest of the Sunday school classes, but our's is discussion based. (There is an adult Sunday school, but I am in the senior youth class at this time.)
And the teachers in my class are more nondenominational than baptist. Which I personally like because I consider myself more on the nondenominational side, and because that way I learn more on different perspectives than I would if they were baptist. But a couple of times they have been scolded a bit for mentioning doctrines that are not really baptist doctrines.

And those of us attending the class have different perspectives on some things. I place value on that, myself. If all I ever heard was things I totally agreed with I'd never learn anything.

We just don't, honestly. In our situation right now, we only have the hotel for 3 hours and with getting ready for church taking an hour and church taking an hour and a half, we don't have time to have one. Our home church offers classes on Wednesday nights that could be considered Sunday School-like but we don't have anything on Sundays. I can't remember when they had adult Sunday School.

How do you do this? Do they have a big E on their tea-shirt? Preaching is for all sinners ,all men everywhere.

The way you are expressing yourself I might not agree with your calvinism also. There is something in your posts that comes across as disingenuous.

Speaking in an open air setting should not sound like a sunday school lesson.

The unsaved are not into or impressed with theological terms, they need clear speaking about the truth the terms speak of.

I did not make sense in my OP. No my preaching goes to all men, but only the elect will respond and I pray to reach them. Also speaking in the open air is no sunday school lesson nor do I use any theological terms. I think I communicated wrong or you misunderstood me.

We don't have SS...we believe the entire church (men, women & children) are taughht by the pastor together and its up to the parents to reinforce the scriptures. I am not one for seperate men's or women's Bible studied either. Our religious society doesn't seperate and seeks to encourage family study. It brings us closer as both people and family to the lord.

    Jacob,

Where you the guy that said you did not have much money and you work cleaning tables? If so and if you are interested and will agree to read, I would like to give you a christmas present of the book The Way of the Master. Its a great book on evangelism and perhaps the best outside the Bible. The book is some 343 pages but its packed with scripture and filled with Biblical wisdom. If so please let me know and send me your address and it will be my gift to you.

    Jacob,

I would also be glad to give you and ship to you one of Norm Gieslers volumes of Systematic Theology. I think it is part 1 of a 4 part volume.

Does the same apply to "secular schooling" the Prinicpal of the school teaches all the students - from K - 12th grade in one classroom at the same time?

Lets see - doesnt Paul direct Timothy that the older women should teach the younger?

Does that mean that your church does not have a nursery?

So now we're advocating book burning? Hmm ...

Where does that fit in with BB guidelines?

We don't have Sunday School either, everyone is in the same place. If a kid squawks, so be it. If the parent wants to take them out if they get unruly, good. I've often found it odd in churches that some tend 'the nursery' each and every service. I don't think I will allow that to happen.
