I was very happy to see the U.S. Supreme Court rise up on its hind legs and stand against the Bush administration in the Hamdan v. Rumsfeld case. Maybe the U.S. Supreme Court will at least slow down the erosion of our civil liberties during the remaining 2.5 years of the Bush administration. As Paul Craig Roberts wrote:

'In their dangerous and ill-founded belief, conservatives are in total opposition to the Founding Fathers, who went to the trouble of writing the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in order to protect us from our government. Most conservatives believe that they do not need constitutional protections, because they "are not doing anything wrong." '

Yes, in the News forum where discussion was cut off in a very short time(about 21 hours). Also, I was on a business trip to Denver last week.

So I put in my two cents on the subject. If no one else wants to post on this thread that will be fine.

Yep, I think it should have been transferred to Politics so the issue could be fully vented.

My feelings on the subject were made clear on the earlier thread and I'm in agreement with Ken, so has anyone got anything else to say?
