I could say the same thing about renting videos, or playing miniature golf, or a trip to the zoo.

If someone wants to get a tattoo, bon appetit. If they don't, then don't. So long as getting a tattoo doesn't become an issue of abuse or of obsession, then it's not scripturally forbidden, nor should it be a litmus test for being of "credible" character, lest one fall prey to the common sin of unrighteous judgment.

This is exactly the way the pagans showed their devotion to their gods. Do you think that God wants us to mutilate ourselves to show our "love" for Him?

Well, he didn't have a problem with circumcision. BTW, do any female members of your family have their ears pierced?

I'll show you mine if you show me yours?

    This thread is getting ridiculous.

The only tattoo that will keep you out of heaven (unless you believe "Left Behind") is the one the antichrist will require, and that probably will not be a tattoo in the traditional sense.

More likely an implanted authentication device to enable financial transactions, and as a replacement for biometric authentication which can be faked. The technology is already available and is being used in some countries with debit card like functionality.

  7. I see a lot of an repented “blessed Christians” mucking around here, trying justify their evil desires. Re 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

I see a lot of unrighteous judgement here, being dispensed by those who feel they are the only ones who know better. Quite pharasaical.

    Yes, I have a tattoo.
    Yes, I somewhat regret it.
No, I'm not ashamed of it.
    No, it wasn't a sin.
No, God won't bar me from heaven because I got one.

  9. This message was to an repentent "Christians" Does it offend you?

    rejicevermore,
May I ask you how does one get into heaven? please be specific.

    Thanks Bob

  11. God wants you to know that:
    1. You are a sinner and cannot save yourself.
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"

    (Romans 3:23).
    .
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done,
but according to His mercy He saved us" (Titus 3:5).
    .
    2. Acceptance or refusal determines your destiny.
"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that
believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God
    abideth on him" (John 3:36).
    .
"How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation"

    (Hebrews 2:3).
    .
    3. You must repent of your sins, confess them and forsake them.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
    .
"Whoso confesseth and forsaketh them {his sins} shall

    obtain mercy" (Proverbs 28:13).
    .
    4. Jesus Christ has already provided the way of salvation.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should
not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
    .
"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the
just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God"
    (1 Peter 3:18).
    .
If you have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you can do so right now by praying a short little prayer like this, "Lord Jesus, if I have never asked you to come into my heart and save me from of all my sins, I do so now--Come into my heart, change me, and make me the kind of person you want me to be."

If you are serious with the Lord Jesus Christ, He'll be serious with you and come into your heart (Revelation 3:20), wash you in His Blood (Isaiah 1:18; 1 John 1:9), regenerate your spirit (Titus 3:3-7), make you an eternal son or daughter of the Most High and Only Living God (John 3:16; Romans 8:14-17), and continue to transform you into His likeness until His return (Philippians 1:6).

Yes I did, I asked"do you think that God wants us to mutilate ourselves to show our "love" for Him?"
The question mark at the end of a sentence usally means a question is being asked. ;) ;) ;)

Does plucking my eyebrows and cutting my toenails count as mutilating myself? Probably not. [IMG] How about ear rings?

Earrings are not mutilating your body for either sex. "Mutilate-to cut off" according to Websters Compact Dictionary. When someone gets an earring they do not cut off anything. They punch a tiny hole. They do not "cut off".

Ah, interesting point (pun intended), DeclareHim. [IMG]

BTW, at one time, God did want men to mutilate themselves for him. I'm glad I wasn't around then. [IMG]

  18. What about accupuncture, accupressure any idea to share? Thanks.

I shaved this morning and I must confess to all as hard as it is and what a discusting christian I'm. I cut myself, yes I mutilated my self. I hope I can still get to heaven.
O thats right heaven is a FREE GIFT. A free gift that was giving to this filty discusting sinner 20 years ago and HIS power and might has kept this filthy sinner till now. Despite all my short commings and sins in my life does that mean I glory in my sin NO! My goal is to be a little bit more each day like my Savior. I believe we are to be seperate from this world but I believe the greatest way we can be seperate is to have the love of Jesus in are lives. So you guys keep pointing your fingers at people on a subject I don't believe is very clear in Scripture. There is a time to be dogmatic and a time to say I'm not sure.

Do you think that God is pleased with a self-righteous hypocritical attitude?
