That's been apparent for a while now.

Arbo, don't tell anybody. Sometimes I read the comics as a diversion from the realities of life for a few minutes.

Hopefully that fact isn't lost by anyone who's employment is within the auto industry. Not only the Jeep factory workers, themselves. There's a whole supply chain of associated products and services to consider, too.

Even if some manufacturing is mantained in the US, for whatever reason, that may be a drop in the bucket, compared to the worldwide distribution that ISN'T done here. Jobs that are NOT created here.

Fiat is going to mantain their profit margin. They have to, if they're going to stay in business. That isn't greed. That's just plain economic common sense. If they can better maintain that margin in China or Italy, that's what they are going to do. If that's the case, they may leave a "token" manufacturing presence in the US for political reasons. Or, they may not.

After the elections, it won't matter if they announce decreases in US productions capability. Right now Jeep is serving its political purpose just as others have at the time. Don't forget the visits to "green" jobs sites for stimilus justification that have since folded, for example.

For the folks who care about FACTS:
Good to see that the folks at Fiat-Chrysler and GM don't mind pointing out the Romney machine lies.

More like they are changing their tune having been called out on it.

Their latest statement is not consistent with their prior statements on the matter.

    Fiat-Chrysler flip flop.

I guess they have fiatnesia.

And GM talking about creating jobs in the U.S. is a real joke.

But being owned by Obama and all what else can they be expected to say?

    Earnings reports are out today:

General Motors Company saw a 12% dip in its income, as Europe's woes finally start to take a toll. Revenue grew by 2.4%, from $36.7 billion in the third quarter of 2011 to $37.6 billion last quarter. Per-share earnings of $0.93 was more than 50% better than the profit of $0.60 GM was expected to create in Q3. Yet, it's still shy of the $1.03 profit General Motors mustered in Q3 a year earlier.

So which parallel universe is Greg Martin in where profits declining by 12% is considered good?
