Two influential Senate committee chairmen were told they were getting special VIP deals when they applied for mortgages, an official who handled their loans told Congress in closed-door testimony.

Democratic Sens. Christopher Dodd and Kent Conrad had denied knowing they were getting discounts when they negotiated their loan terms.

Robert Feinberg, who worked in the VIP section of Countrywide Financial Corp., testified about the loan terms before the Senate Ethics Committee, and provided the same information in an interview with Republican investigators of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. He could be prosecuted for making false statements.

What a stupid thing to say in the first place. Elected officials know they get special treatment. Mentioning it is crass.

Whoever spilled his guts . . . the word will get out and no one will ever trust him.

And Republican politicians would never take a special deal, accept special treatment?

Maybe you should educate yourself on what the actual issue is.

The OP was about two Dems. Why try to drag another red herring across the trail. Once again, why is anyone surprised. This entire administration is loaded with corrupt politicians. Do some research on the backgrounds of most of the "czars".

Whoever authorized the wording on the business cards should be fired. In this world, it doesn't matter what you do, only what you say about what you do. My 4 principles are:

    1. Never lie in writing.
    2. Never lie under oath.
    3. Don't tell the enemy what they don't already know and can prove.
    4. Don't submit anything import without having someone critique it.

Almost got fired couple of times for ignoring #4. Even made the wire services. <G>
