That poor pope Formosus

    Formosus while very flawed wasn't the 'wrong guy' here. It was pope Stephen VII who put his corpse on trial who was the real problem in this case.
    I hope nobody around here is going to defend him.

    What "paganism"?

    Could it be the use of water in baptism, since tha pagans used water in their purification rites?

    Or is it the fact that the Eucharistic host is round, to worship the "Sun god"?

    Or, is it because we celebrate Christmas on an original pagan holiday 25 December? A holiday no longer remembered as being pagan but as that holy day we celebrate the birth of Our Lord?

    Just curious...
