A lot could also be cleared up if the postmillennialists turn out to be right and there is a tremendous increase in the number of Christians. Then the Constitution Party would have a great chance of becoming the majority party in these United States. [IMG]

Actually, the Holy Roman Empire couldn't have organised a drinking session in a brewery for most of it history either. It was a collection of German States largely who did their own thing by the end in 1806. The EU has now got more power than that...

    My spoof election results:-

    A. Skinhead (British Union of Blackshirts)- 10,263

    Nigel Blazer (UKIP)- 100,510

    Patsy Blairbabe (New Look-Labour) - 232,456

Libby Dem (Lib Dem) - 97,435

Sir Bufton Tufton (Conservative) - 476,341

Deirdre Leninspart (Socialist Workers Party- Respect for George Galloway, Saddam and other moustachioed loonies) - 3

    Jonathan Porridge (Greens) 25,678

    That'll do!

    Yours in Christ

Did you know Matt that over here the voters rejected the (Not so nice Treaty) so the government made them vote again - really.

Still think there was very little really "new" in the treaty. The powers you mentioned are mostly symbolic.

I do see the sovereignty concerns. This may very well be the first step in a "United States of Europe" but I don't think it is here yet.

I take it you are a "keep the pound" man?

    Most definitely!

Yes, the "you can have any answer you want as long as it's yes" referendum question worked for the Danes after Maastricht, too
