Hi Ron!

Hey, how come no comments on my thoughts about the virtuous woman woman passages being broken in the three parts of a woman's life. I was real exicited when I learned that, because it made so much sense.

MAN would that be nice. NO, we can't. We started remodelling it before we had to move. It is kind of 'naked' right now. The inside of it is gutted and there is $1000 worth of sheetrock on blocks in the living room. :(

That too would be nice, but this company doesn't work past 3. They just don't. They are a family owned, Christian family owned, company and they let everyone off on the weekends. And even if they allowed it he wouldn't work on sat. We're Sabbath keepers remember? [IMG]

I know. I keep telling him that. Especially in California. Major corportations don't just go with anyone. They seek out reputation, which takes years. We know it is hard to get into. Who knows what God has in store!

It's not union, but he does have the OPTION of insurance for the whole family. Problem though, the premiums for the cheapest kind (the one with the highest copay) was almost $350 a month for all of us. So for now he is the only one on it, because it was only $18 for him.

I had never had so much fun cooking until I went vegan! It is like performing a science experiment! [IMG] I can make BBQ Ribs without meat. They are REALLY good too. I gave some to a friend of mine and didn't tell her what it was, and asked her to tell me what she thought it was, and she yelled at me! She said 'Kelly you don't eat meat!!' They are gooooood. :D

Most people do not pay much attention to balancing their diet, but as a vegan (and most vegetarians as well) I must pay close attention to how many grams of protein a day we all get and making sure we eat enough of the right kinds of veggies, to supliment our bodies needs. After all, the vegan diet is what God gave to Adam and Eve to live on. [IMG] Just think, if there was no pollution I could live to 140! They lived to like 800 or something crazy like that back then.

I could scare the steak and eggs right off your plate with the stuff I could tell you about what they put in your food.

It's nasty. Milk too. Yuk.

But anyhoo, :D thanks for not judging.

God Bless,
Kelly

It's in my apartment complex, right next to the pool. TRUST ME Brian, we don't have any 'frivilous' expenses! The only name brand toiletry I have in my house is my shampoo. (dandruff) :( I have planned our meals for the week and have made meals that are so cheap that I can buy groceries for us for 5 people for 3 meals a day and a snack for the kids for $100 a week. [IMG] Last week I spend $11 for our meals. Beans, rice, and steel cut oats. That's what we ate all week.

Kris did a side job last night, and brought home some cash, so I put gas in the car and went and got some potatoes, noodles, soymilk, veggies, tofu, chips, and a couple of other things all of which were either on sale, or clearance. I got enough food for the rest of this week for $36!

My husband makes fun of me, because I get such a kick out of finding stuff on sale. I was raised by a serious bargain hunter.

I shop at 3 different farmers markets, 2 grocery stores and check fliers for non food items before I buy.

He doesn't make fun of the money I saved though [IMG]

I caught a sale at Old Navy when we were in Charleston last summer, and I got an ENTIRE wardrobe for the oldest (Kristopher) for $100. Pants, socks, jacket, shirts, the WORKS. The most expensive article of clothing I bought that day was $1.99 [IMG] The cheapest? $.04 !!!!

They had all their clearance 75% off the already marked down price. It was awesome.

Anyhoo, so, NO the gym doesn't cost anything extra. It is a part of my $1200 rent.

God Bless,
Kelly

Bad things happen when people decide to go against God's commands.</font>
Bad to whom? me or him? Are you insinuating that his psychotic, drug induced break with reality was my fault?

[/QB]
Did you take your former husband to court? You should have been able to get quite alot of support out of him.[/QB]
Well, I did get child support...when he feels like sending it. I didn't get much else. Don't tell me to drag him back to court over the non-payment...I've already been told that first of all, since we're in 2 different states and second of all, since I'm not receiving any sort of public assistance, and currently make WELL over the median wage for this area, it would take up to 2 years for them to even get around to enforcing the support order.
My oldest child is now 21, grown, married and with a family of her own. My boys are 16 and 13.

My X is remarried, I don't think the ink on the decree was dry when he did. I waited...it was about 2 years later.

We now have a good, secure and comfortable life. Will I quit working? I doubt it, I enjoy what I do and I'm good at it. We have the financial resources to keep the kids out of the public school system, provide them with a superior education that will stand them in good stead as they go through life.

I believe in children being given every possible advantage in life. A better education, a better life is important.

and yes, we tithe...this giving is VERY important to us...to give back to the Lord for the incredible blessings He has bestowed on us.

It's sick huh? A comprable house here would be $400,000 to $750,000 depending on the area. There are some new houses going in in North County SD that are in the mid $300,000's but that would make an hour and a half commute for my husband there AND back.

Gas? $167, Car tax just TRIPLED thanks to good 'ole Grey Davis, we are trying to recall him right now, and property tax, I'm not sure since we don't own here yet.

The real estate is what is obscene here. The groceries are actually cheaper, produce especially, and our utilities run about the same as they did when we were living in LA.

Minimum wage here is $6.75 [IMG]

Kelly

We were married in May of 97, so I was about to turn 23. We were married for just over 3 years. The divorce was finalized in April of '00. We were legally separated for the last 6 months of it though.

It was a really good situation for the first 4 months, until I got the first phone bill that had over 800 BRITISH POUNDS worth of phone sex calls. That's about $1300. Then things went pear shaped.

He ended up cheating on me with a prostitute, and then having an affair with one of my friends.

He spent most of his time either drinking, looking at porn, or both at the same time. He had/has a problem.

Why do you ask?

God Bless,
Kelly

Why do I ask? Because you seem to make it your busines about my age when I was married, and my life, so I just wondered. You were concerend about people getting married too young, but I've be married 23 years too, you wait a few more years, and are on your second husband. So it seems getting married young was no a bad thing for me.

Katie,
Actually, he isn't my second husband.

I only have one.

According to the Bible when a person commits adultery, they JOIN themselves to that person.

My first marriage is not only null and void in the eyes of man, but in the eyes of God.

God Bless,
Kelly

Actually he is. Yes, you had the right to remarry, but he is your second husband.

Sorry, he may not be your husband now becasue you divocred him, but he was your husband then. he joined himelf to you first didn't he? If not then you joined with a man already joined to another woman.
Once again it seems you have misunderstood scripture.
None the less, your marriage failed, and my young marriage is stronger then ever. And you think it was wrong for me to marry at my age, we made it you didn't.
Remember what Jesus said about why divorce is allowed in the first place.

I don't believe in divorce for a one time adultery but only for a long pattern of adultery with no remorse. (Kelly, this isn't aimed at you but talking out loud here.)

I DO agree with the other ladies tho that this is your second husband. Even tho you are divorced with a biblical reason.

Here's one to discuss.... A Bible Study teacher at a well known local church told his group that you are married to the first person you have sex with and that all other relationships are adultery. He said that there is no forgiveness for that act and that if our husband's had been sexually active before us, we were in adultery! Ever heard THAT before?

This above question sort of touches on Kelly's remark about them being bodily joined (health implications) with a harlot. Marriage is a leaving and cleaving..... not just a sex act.

Well...I see since I posted yesterday...you've all put a lot of time into this thread. So Diane...forgive me if I reply to what you said 2 pages ago.

Concerning your statistics....WOW! That's like one of the things you hear but would never consider to actually be true because of how sensational it is. I'm flabergasted at those numbers.

I disagree. The Bible says very clearly that divorce is allowed for the cause of fornication. It only takes ONCE for fornication to exist, however he was having a full blown affair.

I have 3 kids, the second born child is my second child. I don't consider a man that I was once married to, and am not NOT married to him as my 'husband' therefore he cannot be counted in a numerical line up of 'husbands' (plural). Get it? [IMG]

Yeah, and it's a lie of the devil. There is forgiveness for every act of sin that we can think of save one, and it is NOT having sex before marriage.
If what that so called 'teacher' said is true, heaven is going to come short of people who lived during this generation.
I'm not sure I am following you completely. Are you saying that you don't consider having sex with someone other than your spouse is adultery unless they actually LEAVE your house, and go live with that person? Joining yourself to a harlot only takes sex. No one in the Bible went and lived in a harlots house and started paying her bills for her. It was talking about those who payed her for sex. That's all.

God Bless,
Kelly

How so? There is no misunderstanding. I cannot be joined to two men at the same time. I was LOOSED from the first by his actions. I was therefore NOT married when I married my husband.
Well, neener neener! Grow UP! I never said that it was wrong for you to marry at 16. Is it always your habit to bear false witness or can you just not help yourself???? My marriage did not 'fail'. My ex husband was lost, and didn't want to have anything to do with God. I was a wonderful wife to him, and he had MAJOR issues. He even admits this now. I only left because he was extremely abusive, physically, mentally and SEXUALLY. When I found out he was committing adultery I took the opportunity to be free from the bondage of his control. Praise God!
DUH!

That's what this conversation is about remember???

Sheesh

Get out of La La Land.

I'm guessing that this house is the biggest drain on your resources.

Having had experience with real estate, any house will sell if the price is right. Have you priced it right? Maybe you need to lower your expectations.

Have you tried to get a contractor to finish it for you? Maybe you can find one who will do it with the understanding that he will get paid when it sells. He could protect his interest with a lien on the property.
