He may be entertaining, but it is also very sad that some people beleive this is true Christianty.

Truth is there is such thing as selectivity...when using the internet or tv. Be very carefull about what you watch and what sites you visit. There is nothing sinful about watching tv or using the internet as long as both are done carefully. There are many, many fine programs on tv.

Now those standards maybe low and way too loose at times but at least there are standards. There are no such standards, or controls, on the internet. _________________________________________

==I think you are being dangerously selective here. You accept the internet into your home but leave out tv? Not very consistant.

Reminds me of a preacher back in Greensboro, NC years ago who, after a service, went out back of his church and blew up his tv with a high explosive.

Me and another pastor was invited to a revival this man had at his church. Many pastors were there to speak for this two week long event, with 3 sermons a night.

Every preacher that spoke spoke against television, certain clothing, and men with beards.

My pastor friend and I were the only ones there with beards.

All I've got to say is NO body better take a baseball bat to my television during college basketball season!

Do you see this frying pan I've got in my hand? Don't try it round here!

Then there is baseball season . . . Well, just don't touch my TV! AND yes we have cable so I can watch ESPN.

Thats what he says in the message. First he says the actors behind Bert and Ernie are gay, then he says kids watching them are being programmed to be gay.

==Funny thing. I grew up watching Bert and Ernie, as did my three brothers, and not one of us is gay. So I guess the "programming" failed... [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Roger, I've heard that from time to time, and I've had a hard time believing it myself. Two men can't be friends? Two puppets can't be friends?

I just listened to the last of the sermon. I've said it before and I'll say it again -- Good Grief!

I am concerned. Perhaps appalled would be a better descriptor! Children were scared due to the violence. I've been married for 25+ years and my husband has NEVER resorted to such measures. If I were in a church that suggested that he take a baseball bat to anything in our home, we'd leave that church. AND immediately after, they have an invitation? I just don't see that if this kind of action happened in a home, that the wife would feel like here husband loved her as Christ loved the church.

Can we talk? Can we pray? Can we depend on God to change people's hearts? Praise God that's what we do. The baseball bats have been left to the diamond.

Git in your place woman, and hesh up. Frying pans are for you to cook with. Barefoot. I know from your pic that you're wearing those little snappy heels that click, and you think you're so cute, watching man sports and clicking around on your "little hells".
If your man smashes your television, you better be asking him if you can help the bat meet the screen. After all, you are his help meet, and what better defintion of it than that?

    GOT IT?!

Inside of me, there's an ifbx preacher waiting to exhale...

The fumes from all the cooking are really getting to me. AGH!

humbly hanging my head and taking off my shoes to be barefoot.

I guess I should switch from my jeans to a skirt too, huh?

My hope is that the poor guy will grow up and calm down a bit. He has some valid concerns, he just needs to learn with them in a more Biblical manner.

At the moment he thinks he needs sensationalism to make his point. Perhaps one day soon he will learn that the Holy Spirit is a much better convictor and convincer that he will ever be, no matter how dramatic he tries to be.

TV is like anything else we use. We will watch what is in our heart. The BB in on the internet. There is also lots of evil things on the internet. TV has lots of good wholesome programs, discovery, history, Christian stations, tv land, etc. Then you have HBO, reality shows and soap operas.

WHELL! I'm speechless. You're just a downright liberal little thing, ain't ya?

I just went and check on my NASCAR team, and the two I thought were gonna do really well didn't do that great. I'm tempted to smash the television myself. HA!

Wait a minute, I'm confused. Wasn't Contemporary Christian music the ONE thing that Christians subscribe the most to that is sending us all straight to Hell with no parole (loose paraphrase)?

    Troll. Gotta love it.

So THAT'S why Ernie looked at Bert yesterday on Sesame Street and said,

"I wish I knew how to quit you!"
