I generally take a pre-trib, pre-mil view of eschatology, but there are some aspects of it that cause me to pose some questions.

Generally speaking, most pre-trib, pre-mil's maintain that once the rapture takes place, the Holy Spirit will be withdrawn from the earth (usually citing 2 Thes 2:7 as the basis of their belief).

OTOH, most of these folks will also maintain that there will be people saved during the tribulation period (usually citing such passages as Rev 6:9-11).

Now, if the HS is withdrawn from the earth, how are these "tribulation saints" drawn to the Gospel? Are these "tribulation saints" indwelt with the HS (cf. Romans 8:9b)? Is it the goal of these "tribulation saints" to be led by the HS?

What are your thoughts about the role of the HS with regard to these "tribulation saints"?

The word withdrawn is not actually correct. The belief is that the HG will no longer be indwelt in believers in the same way He was not in the OT. His work will be external rather than indwelt.

Following the rapture of the bride of Christ from the earth, Israeli Jews will fulfill the Great Commission.
I believe that 144,000 Jews will have a "Paul-like" conversion, seeing Jesus, and will be endowed with
the gifts of the Holy Spirit as on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2), in which case, they will fan out across
the remote regions of the globe and have the ability to instantly know the tribal dialects and languages
of the people they are evangelizing without ever studying their language. This will be the great harvest of souls
prior to the 3 1/2 year Great Tribulation, where the remaining inhabitants of the earth will be punished severely by God for rejecting the gospel.
The 2,000 years of the Church are but the "firstfruits", the main harvest of souls is the first part of the Tribulation.

If it is external like in the OT, does that mean during the tribulation there will be folks saved then unsaved, since there is not an indwelling seal of the HS?

I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and
which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads,
    or in their hands;
    Rev 20:4 excerpt

Yes, you can "lose your salvation" during the Tribulation.

    Weird.

So folks who believe the pre-millenial dispensationalist view don't believe in salvation by grace through faith in the Old Testament period or in their conception of the end times?

    That's messed up.

No wonder that view has never made any sense to me. The Old Testament saints were saved the same way we are today. Paul is pretty explicit about that in Galatians and Romans. (A better way to say it would be that we are saved the same way as Abraham.)

Have to agree. The dispy theology for me just creates far more questions and inconsistencies, then it ever answers or clarifies.
